This self-healing meditation was created to help the listener let go of their past. Many of us use our past as reasons for why we are unhappy today. By learning to release the past and take back your power, you can completely shift the way you look at your life. You can self-heal and take back control of what you choose to think and feel from moment to moment in your current reality, which will help you to love yourself, respect yourself, honor yourself, and much more!

Come into a comfortable seated position.

Of course you can listen to this guided meditation as you walk out in nature or as you get ready to prepare yourself to go to sleep at the end of the day.

In any of those circumstances just make sure that you're comfortable.

If you are walking,

Leave your eyes open.

But if you're seated and laying down,

Feel free to close your eyes if that feels good for you.

Start to bring all of your attention onto your breath.

Notice the rhythm and the pace of your breath.

Start to see if you can follow the rhythm of breathing in and breathing out.

Notice as you breathe in and breathe out how the rhythm has a relaxation to it.

Like watching the waves on the ocean come up the beach and then back out again.

Or when you watch a swing on a playground go back and forth.

Allow the breath to have that same hypnotic pace.

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Breathing in and breathing out.

And allow that pace to start to take you into a state of relaxation.

If you quieten the body enough and really pull your focus inward,

You'll be able to follow the pace of your heartbeat.

Again,

It has a form of hypnotism just following the rhythm of your heartbeat.

If you can't feel your heartbeat inside of your chest or hear it,

Feel free to place one of your hands over your heart so you can feel the rhythm of your heart underneath your hand.

Connect with it and relax into the pace.

Using your heart,

Your breath or something visual to start to slow down your outside world will help to slow down the thoughts inside of your mind.

Slowing down the thoughts inside of your mind brings a natural sense of peace and relaxation.

When the mind quietens,

It gives us the opportunity to have more of a direct control over our thinking.

To send our thoughts or focus our thoughts on a particular project or topic.

During this meditation,

We're going to take our thoughts into a place that helps us to see the need to let go of the past.

Sometimes questioning can allow our thoughts to come to the surface so that we can scramble through them and make sense of them.

For example,

Ask yourself what do I gain by keeping a hold of events that happened in my past that bring me pain?

What do I gain by keeping a hold of memories from the past that bring me pain?

If the past is no longer relative and only the present is what truly exists in this moment,

Why do I recall the past to make myself feel a negative emotion,

A pain?

Parts of my past bring me pain,

Parts of my past bring me sadness,

Anger,

Shame,

Guilt.

The question I'm asking myself is why do I bring my past forward with me?

Why do I carry my past in my energy if it only brings me pain?

As I start through my thoughts,

I realize that the pain must be serving a purpose.

Does the pain give me evidence to feel a certain way about myself?

Does the guilt I hold from my past events give me reason to not feel worthy in this moment right now,

Today?

Does the memories that make me angry give me cause to be unhappy today in this moment,

To be depressed or pessimistic or to feel alone or abandoned?

Am I using my past to stay small,

To not shine as bright as I know I could?

The truth is,

If I let go of all of that,

Then I have to step into who I am now.

There's no excuses.

There's no excuse not to shine.

I have no excuse not to shine.

I have no reason not to make the most out of who I am.

The truth is,

Without all of that,

I could be exactly who I want to be right now in this moment.

I'd have no excuses to feel a certain way,

No evidence from the past to say I'm a certain person,

No reason to give myself any box or label.

And the fact is that right now in this moment,

I'm completely different to who I was back then.

I'm completely different to who I was five moments ago.

I can take my life in any direction I choose.

I am the one controlling my feelings.

I am the one creating the emotions I feel.

It's my choice from moment to moment to be happy or sad or angry.

My choice.

It doesn't have to be anything to do with my past.

It's all about the power that I have right now in this moment to feel however I want to feel.

There is no rule that I have to have beliefs from yesterday.

Today.

Today is a brand new day and I am in complete control of how much happiness or how much suffering I experience today.

And with that,

I take the deepest breath.

I breathe out a sigh of relief in the knowing that I am in complete control of my moment to moment reality.

This brings me a sense of peace.

This brings me a sense of security.

I am completely empowered.

My past,

My future,

The people in my life.

Nothing has control over the way that I choose to feel.

Only me.

Right now.

In this moment.

And I choose to be happy.

I choose happiness.

I choose to love myself completely.

I choose to accept all of me.

I choose to believe in myself.

To honor myself.

To respect myself.

I choose to feel happy.

I choose to let go of anything else in my life that doesn't bring me happiness.

I let go of all that no longer serves me.

I am choosing happiness.

Namaste.

Thank you so much 🙏 I needed this tonight sometimes my mind goes back to the past and I realize that there is still pain, memories that need to heal, at the beginning of the meditation I couldn’t control my tears but little by little I began to calm down and find peace, What do I gain by bringing the past to my present? was the question I needed to ask myself 🙏
