Start by making sure that you're laid down in a comfortable position.

Pull your neck away from your shoulders,

Pull your shoulders down and relax them.

Move your arms away from your sides and have your hands facing up towards the sky.

Allow your hips and your legs to relax into a comfortable place and let your feet fall to the side slightly.

Just allow yourself to feel your breath.

So start by focusing on your breath,

The way it feels as you breathe in and breathe out.

Notice how your chest rises and falls with your breath.

Close your eyes if you haven't done so already and let the outside world go.

Start to slow everything down,

Your mind,

Your breath,

Your body.

Just breathe and start to relax.

Lengthen your breath so you're breathing longer,

Slower,

Deeper breaths.

Imagine in your mind that you can see your breath going all the way down to your navel.

Breathing in long,

Slow,

Deep,

Relaxing breaths.

Allow your body and your mind to start to respond to your breath.

When your breath slows down,

Your thoughts will start to slow down.

Your body will start to relax.

Let go of your day.

Let go of anything in your mind that you're thinking of currently.

When thoughts pop into your mind,

Just see them for what they are,

Simple.

Don't make any attachment to the thought.

Don't chase the thought or entertain it in any way.

Just see it in your mind and say,

Okay,

I'm thinking this,

Now I'm going to let it go.

Just breathe it out along with your breath.

Breathe into your face and feel your face,

Feel the muscles,

The space in your head.

Your jaw,

Relax your jaw.

Just be aware of any sensations that you feel in your head,

Around your eyes,

Your eyebrows.

Even feel your ears.

Be aware of all the different parts of your face and your head.

Put all of your focus and attention on that.

And then tell your head to relax into the pillow and let go.

Let go of any tension.

Let go of any stress in the back of your neck.

Just breathe it out and let it go.

Allow your head to completely relax.

Start to enjoy the sensations of relaxation flowing through your body.

Smile inwardly and appreciate this time for yourself,

This space,

This quiet time.

Enjoy your body as it starts to relax even deeper.

Breathe into the space at the back of your neck and let your shoulders and your neck completely relax.

Your shoulders may fall and get heavy.

Just enjoy that sensation.

Allow the relaxation to roll down over your shoulders,

Down your arms to your elbows.

And from your elbows all the way down to the tips of your fingers so your arms feel heavy and sleepy and relaxed.

Your upper back relaxes.

Your middle back and your lower back relax.

Breathe into your abdomen.

Allow the muscles across your chest to soften as you breathe.

Let go of any tension that you're holding in your tummy.

Relax the muscles.

Relax all the organs close by.

In your mind see everything being healthy and happy and completely relaxed.

Just let go.

Relax your hips.

Breathe into your hips,

Your legs,

Your knees,

All the way down to your feet so that everything is relaxed.

All the way to the tips of your toes and then focus on your feet and use your mind,

Use your imagination and imagine your feet barefoot on the forest floor.

Let go of your reality and allow your imagination to create that space around you.

Take a breath and see yourself in the forest.

Deep,

Dark,

Lush forest filled with tall,

Happy,

Healthy green trees all around you.

You can feel the earth underneath your bare feet.

It feels cool and soft.

You walk through the forest gently,

Taking your time.

You take a breath deep into your lungs and smell the earth.

You smell the trees,

The life all around you.

It's quiet and peaceful and no one is there.

It's just you in this sacred forest,

In this special place.

You feel calm.

You feel content and happy and connected to the earth.

There's no worries here,

No stress.

You just walk and feel the ground underneath your feet and enjoy the sensations.

Up ahead,

This one tree that calls to you,

It's tall,

Its trunk is thick and wide and strong.

You make your way over to that tree.

You touch it and feel its bark and you get a spark of energy and life force in your fingertips that runs up your arm and tingles all the way down your spine.

You feel its connection.

You almost feel its breath,

Just like yours,

Breathing in and breathing out.

Breathing in,

Mother Earth.

Your heart chakra,

The center of your chest,

Already starting to open.

You turn around and sit down and put your back against the bark of the tree.

You feel its power,

Its strength.

You feel solid,

Rooted,

Grounded.

You breathe that into your body as if you're absorbing it through the cells and the skin in your back.

It feels delicious.

You feel the earth underneath your sit bones,

Its roots underneath your hips and your legs.

You breathe in a long,

Slow,

Deep breath and look down at your feet and notice that your feet have started to meld and become one with the earth.

Your physical body is disappearing.

You're becoming part of this tree,

This sacred,

Strong,

Healthy tree.

Your legs turn into roots.

It's calming,

It's peaceful and it feels so good.

To let go of your reality,

To let go of all of your labels,

Your identity.

Just be one with the tree.

Your hips become part of its trunk.

Your spine melts into the flesh of the tree.

You stretch out your arms and your arms become branches,

Full and heavy with leaves.

Your head,

The top of the tree,

Feeling the breeze blowing by the wind.

Gently moving your leaves.

You feel in your power,

Rooted,

Grounded and healthy.

Your whole body feels healthy and strong.

You look at your leaves and wonder if your leaves were just like your life.

They represented everything that was on the surface.

All of your worries,

All of your problems,

All of your issues that you're going through right now.

There,

For the world to see in the leaves.

Imagine that.

Imagine the leaves being your current problems.

The trunk of the tree.

Being the evidence,

The growth of your problem.

Where did it start?

How did it get to this point?

What do I believe about my problem that's making it so real?

Who said what?

Who did what?

That's the trunk of the tree.

And then down in your feet,

The roots,

The earth,

Is the seed.

Where did your problem start?

How did it start to grow?

How have you been watering it?

Turning it into a leaf,

Something real.

Think.

Think.

What if the leaves started to fall,

Just like the seasons coming out of summer going into autumn.

They turn brown and green and orange and start to fall away from your branches.

What if your problems started to fall away from your reality?

What if you could just let them go?

Stop breathing life and energy into them.

What if you could just let your problems fall to the ground?

Even if it's just for a short period of time.

Now,

In this moment,

That's all that really exists.

Just let them go.

Let each one fall off your branches.

Fall down to the earth and dissolve into the ground.

Feel how light it feels to be not carrying them.

How free you feel to be not weighed down by them.

Let your heart expand.

Let your body expand.

Feel how light you feel.

How powerful you feel standing rooted into the earth.

Winter is here.

Sleep and rest.

Spring is coming.

New life,

New opportunities.

A chance for you to grow.

Birds start to form on your branches.

Everything in the forest is changing.

Everything's brightening.

Life is starting to happen all over again.

Imagine that you're giving yourself this new opportunity.

A new you.

A new growth.

And summer comes and shares the warmth of the sun.

And your leaves bloom once again.

Full,

Heavy and bright.

Rich with life.

This is you.

Your seasons of change and growth.

Opportunity to let go and rebirth.

You look down at your feet and notice that they're human again.

Your legs are back.

Your knees,

Your thighs.

Your hips.

Your entire body is back in its human,

Beautiful perfection.

Inspired from the past.

I loved the introduction of small body and breathing awareness, some nice and soothing mantras where you were taken off your mind and then travel in to a forest trip, where beautiful things were used such as being bare feet and letting go of the leaves that were used as a saying for problems and where it stems from. I'm very tired, so my apologies for not saying things well, but I can say it was one of my absolute favourites, thank you

This is the best meditation for hard times when Iโ€™m scared. Coronavirus, the election, death of a parent, worrying about my children.... The tree helps me feel strong and rooted and I truly feel lighter after my leaves ๐Ÿ fall down to the grown. This clears space for growth. My heart no longer feels twisted in knots from worry. Iโ€™m going to have to make time for this daily right now. Thank you Cory.
