Become very aware of the current experience in the present and just for this time do not try to change anything about the experience.

Do not analyze anything about your current experience.

Do not try to remember anything about the current experience.

Just be the pure awareness of everything that you are experiencing now.

There may be many elements to the current experience that seem separate.

The external world might seem very separate to the internal world but notice how your experience of the external world and the internal world both take place within the same awareness.

Because there is a variety of experiences,

The mind categorizes and divides everything up.

But if you let go of the tendency to do this in the mind,

You notice that there is no separation,

There is no division.

Everything is actually one single experience.

Release the mind from its task.

Recognize that your consciousness does not divide anything up,

Does not categorize anything.

Consciousness is simply the open awareness that is free to receive all experience.

So if we could do away with the mind's tendency to label,

Categorize,

Divide and instead just go directly to the conscious awareness of experience,

We find a much more simple space,

A much calmer way of being.

So simply remain as the awareness.

Become less and less interested in the content of experience.

Just let it all go.

It can run in the background,

That's fine.

Just be disinterested.

The body,

The mind,

The world,

Just for this time,

Starts to become unimportant,

Irrelevant.

And instead give more attention to the awareness itself,

The consciousness that is your awareness of existence itself.

Just notice more and more this consciousness.

You're curious.

This consciousness must always be present.

Without consciousness there can be no experience.

All experience is made out of awareness.

So consciousness must always be here.

We simply overlook it.

Explore the properties of consciousness.

The simple awareness of being,

The awareness of experience,

The awareness of existence.

What is this awareness?

The awareness of experience is not itself an experience.

It is the simple,

Pure consciousness that has no preferences,

No opinions,

No beliefs.

Consciousness does not resist anything,

Nor does it avoid anything.

It is simply open,

Empty and peaceful.

It is very allowing in nature.

It is loving and impartial.

So let yourself just be this impartial,

Loving,

Accepting space of awareness.

And all experience is free to simply pass on through.

Just don't get involved.

So this conscious awareness that is ever present and ever peaceful is a constant element of your experience.

It has to be here in order for experience to be here.

So at any moment,

During any day,

You are free to go to this space.

Through the inquiry,

Am I aware of the current experience?

And realizing there,

The depth of freedom this provides.

Free to disengage from all experience and instead as the ever peaceful,

Ever present consciousness.

In a moment,

We will be leaving the formal aspect of this meditation.

But notice,

Whether we are in meditation or not,

You remain as the awareness of experience and you are not the experience itself.

Thank you for doing this meditation with me today.

Take care,

Be well and stay present.
