So in this meditation we relax the mind.
By giving ourselves permission to just say,
I don't know.
And be alright.
With the I don't know.
We can go back to figuring things out finding solutions to problems after this meditation but just for 20 minutes or so.
Just let go.
Nothing to figure out.
No solutions to find.
No right answers that you have to come up with.
No need to understand everything.
Cognitively so no analysis is needed for this meditation.
Just begin to allow yourself to say,
Actually.
.
.
Everything's alright as it is,
Right now.
Even the elements of your current experience that you don't prefer.
You don't find enjoyable or uncomfortable or perhaps even painful.
Just for this time saying,
I don't mind.
Just for this time.
We'll fix it all later,
But just for a while.
What if acceptance is the remedy?
We can apply.
This unknowing this permission to say.
I don't know.
Even to meditation itself.
So even sitting in this meditation in whatever your spiritual practice is.
Just be as though this were the very first time you've ever done this.
You're not referring to anything.
So this is the very first time you've ever come across this thing called meditation.
And be okay with not knowing what it is.
Not knowing what it is we're trying to achieve.
Not knowing if we're doing it right.
Not knowing what the right method or technique is.
Let go of all of that.
Instead just be open.
To the here and now.
Don't try and figure anything out Don't try to change anything.
Don't try to fix or alter anything.
Just leave everything as it is.
In the external and internal world So even your own thoughts,
They're just fine.
I don't know what they are.
And the sensations in the body.
I don't know what this body is.
I really don't.
I don't know what the mind is.
I don't know why it is the way that it is.
I don't know why the world is the way that it is.
I don't know.
I don't know what the universe is.
I just got here.
And just for this time,
I don't care to know either I'm not interested.
There seems to be a.
.
.
Natural harmony,
A natural rhythm.
There might be a reason why all of this is here.
But if I don't try and figure it out,
If I just leave it.
.
.
And trust.
Trust that all is well.
It just starts to make sense,
Just seems,
I see,
I see,
But it's not understood.
In the mind,
The mind can't understand.
If you let go of the mind,
Understanding naturally arises.
Just allow the body to relax into this.
The sense of handing.
All of those issues and problems in the mind.
Handing them back over to the universe to let reality deal with them.
If there is an answer,
It will be out there,
It will be found.
But right now.
Doesn't matter.
All is well.
And don't be afraid.
To allow.
All of those situations and circumstances.
Those problems that are on your mind.
To be here.
You may feel a little relaxation from the meditation but you're worried that those thoughts are going to come back in.
The problems with why.
The problems with relationships all that stuff from your healing journey,
All the memories,
The financial problems,
Their health problems,
The whole thing.
We're worried.
Gonna come back in.
Actually it doesn't matter.
Those thoughts do come back in,
It's alright Only the differences.
When a thought comes in.
Demanding an answer.
With it Urgent.
Immediate need.
For a resolution for the correct course of action.
We don't engage with that thought.
Instead.
Just say,
I don't know.
When the mind says,
What are we gonna do?
What are we going to do about this?
What are we going to do about that?
What do we say?
What's the right decision?
I don't know actually.
I really don't.
I just don't know.
We'll take a couple of minutes in silence for exactly that.
Let life be a mystery again.
The mystery and wonder of it all.
Before the mind was conditioned.
Before this world demanded answers from you.
Remember what the mystery was like?
What is all this?
Let it be mysterious,
The whole thing.
Including your own life.
Including your life story,
The story of you.
The relentless.
Am I doing the right thing?
Have I done the right thing?
What's the right thing to do in future?
Just for this time.
I just don't know.
I've tried to figure it out.
Spent many hours trying to figure it out and.
.
.
Dunno.
Only occasionally do I feel like I arrive at the right answer.
So,
You know what?
I don't know.
I really don't.
No matter how strong the barrage.
Of those thoughts.
In the mind is.
The answer remains the same.
Become disinterested in the mind.
It can only come to you with a suggestion.
Raises a thought and says here Figure this one out.
Pay attention to this Just this whole time.
Always the same answer,
Not interested,
Not interested.
She's not interested.
It doesn't matter.
In doing this.
You will come face to face with the fear of uncertainty the fear of the loss of control.
But it's this very letting go of control here that is providing the relief so we can tolerate a little bit.
Of fear.
That's okay,
A little bit of fear,
A little bit of tension.
Cease needing to know the answers for everything.
I feel like we're dropping our guard That's okay,
Drop your guard.
And trust,
Just trust the universe.
Trusting.
All problems resolve themselves in time.
All things work out.
All shall be well in the end.
So it's alright to drop the guard,
That will actually relax the body,
It's very healthy.
Relax the mind,
It's very healthy.
And a healthy body and mind is a wonderful outcome.
And there we find.
.
.
Happiness was already here.
I can rest in the now.
Figuring out the problems in the mind didn't bring me to happiness,
It prevented my happiness.
So now letting them go.
It was already here,
And it was already known.
In a moment,
We'll be leaving the formal aspect of this meditation.
Notice there can be a feeling of agitation or nervousness we feel like we're gonna have to go back to strenuously striving to work through the mind stuff again.
You don't have to,
You know.
You can give yourself just a little grace,
A little space.
And realise anything important.
You won't forget.
And you won't neglect.
If it's important,
You will take care of it.
It's all there.
Minutia that chatter that's what can go safely Thank you for doing this meditation with me today.
Take care,
Be well,
Stay present.
