For the next 20 minutes,
See if you can be without your name,
Without your age,
Without your height,
Without your weight,
Without the story so far,
The story of you,
Without any history,
Without any prediction about the future,
Just a sense of being.
You'll find you don't need any labels in order to simply exist,
To just be here,
Now.
No names are necessary,
No numbers are needed.
The present moment does not need a story,
It has no story.
So,
Let go of this idea of being an individual moving along a timeline.
Let go of the protagonist in this story of you.
You'll find no such thing actually exists in reality,
It only exists in imagination,
So just let go.
Now finding you can be here,
Perfectly happy,
Perfectly healthy,
Without these things.
It stands to reason that we are not these things.
You are not your name,
You are not your story.
How much of the suffering in your mind is caused by this story?
Just let it go.
That leaves us with the pure simplicity,
The stillness of the present moment.
Simply rest in this sense of being,
Now.
Explore this present moment as consciousness,
Not as the story.
So,
Be open to receive experience,
But do not add any mind activity to experience.
Be like the lens on a camera with no SD card,
No tape.
Just the clear lens able to perceive all things,
But storing nothing,
Coloured by nothing,
Stained by nothing,
Just passing through.
Observe your own mind in this way.
You can witness your mind,
And notice that you are not your mind,
You are the witness of your mind.
Observe bodily sensations in the same way.
You are not the body,
You are the observer of the body.
So let the body and mind go also.
No more trying to manage thoughts,
Or manage the body,
Or manage life.
Just stay out of the whole thing.
Make no decisions for this time.
Do not analyse,
Do not interpret anything,
Do not create a story about anything.
Just be.
Notice that this just being already is.
This simple,
Neutral beingness is already here.
You do not create beingness,
You already are beingness.
You do not have to maintain beingness,
You will remain beingness.
You do not have to manage being.
Being is already perfectly managed.
In a moment we will be leaving the formal aspect of this guided meditation,
Although you may wish to sit a while longer in this neutral sense of just being.
If it is time to re-engage with daily activities,
Try to do so from the position of this pure conscious awareness,
Rather than from the position of the narrative and story of the individual,
And you will notice things are a lot more peaceful,
A lot smoother.
