Take a moment to locate your comfort.
You may sit or lie down for this meditation,
Taking care to give your body what it needs.
When you are ready,
Gently close your eyes.
Or if it feels more comfortable,
Fix your gaze on a stationary object.
Come into relationship with this moment by feeling the space around you,
In front of you,
Above,
Behind,
Below.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through the nose and slowly exhale through the mouth.
Allow your body to surrender to this moment.
Breathing further with each exhale.
Deep breath in.
Slow exhale out.
Once more,
Deep breath in.
Finally call to mind a moment in which someone's actions caused you to feel deep gratitude.
It could be as simple as a stranger buying you coffee or a loved one supporting you during a challenging time.
Allow yourself to recall and experience their loving actions.
Notice any sensations occurring in your body as you envision this experience.
Now send this person deep gratitude for showing up in your life this way.
Next call to mind a moment in which your actions caused you to feel deep gratitude.
Perhaps you addressed a situation with integrity that helped end your suffering.
Or maybe you made your bet this morning.
Anything that fills you with goodwill towards yourself is enough.
Allow yourself to recall and experience your loving actions.
Again,
Notice any sensations occurring in the body as you remember this moment.
And finally,
Take a moment again to connect to the present and locate a point of gratitude that exists right now.
It could be appreciation for a pleasant physical sensation or enjoying the peace of this moment.
You decide.
Rest here in this loving space,
Breathing gently.
Take a deep breath in.
Breathing in all of the warmth and loving gratitude cultivated during this meditation.
And exhale.
Sending this kindness and appreciation to yourself and anyone in the world who might need it.
Breathing gratitude.
Exhale,
Sending it out into the world.
And when you are ready,
Gently begin to wiggle your fingers,
Toes.
Give your body what it needs to return to daily life.
And when you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
