Thank you for sharing in this moment with me.

I am Colleen Fletcher.

It's common to tighten muscles and thought processes when experiencing discomfort.

My goal with this session is to help you have a way to release those blockages and thrive in calm alignment,

Living your life in comfort and ease.

To help ease your body and mind the most during our time together,

Focus on the sound of my voice if you feel yourself being drawn away through worry or pain.

Muscles often become tense when struggling and you're trying to rid yourself of any unpleasantness.

Instead of tightening,

You can make room for the pain and uncomfortableness,

Welcoming it in and meeting it with your caring presence.

You have the power to retrain your mind and your body.

This exercise helps you build a non-reactive awareness,

That of having no reactions to pain or disruptive emotions to the situation you are in.

Rather than being controlled by every challenging situation,

You can notice it,

Allow it to be present,

And move forward instead of being hindered by these experiences.

For this practice,

Find a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down,

Whichever is most comfortable for you.

Give yourself a few moments now to settle.

Breathe deeply,

Allowing your mind and body to release and become soft with each breath.

Inhale,

Exhale,

Inhale,

And exhale.

Without ignoring the unpleasantness,

Invite in calm.

Pay attention to the painful emotions or aches you are experiencing.

Notice what and where this is in your body and mind,

Offering care to these aches.

Acknowledge how your mind and body feel right now.

Ask if it is sadness,

Fear,

Frustration,

Or even disappointment.

Notice the general tone and experience what you are feeling emotionally and physically.

Begin making mental space for yourself by offering a few phrases of kindness.

Saying these phrases to yourself from a place of compassion will gently switch the narrative of your body and mind.

Continue to offer the phrases to yourself,

Either by saying them aloud or internally,

Gently reconnecting with your intention to honor the experience with open and caring support of your well-being.

Offering these phrases to the pain or to the difficulty you are experiencing,

Offering to say them aloud or gently internally.

You are welcome here.

You are welcome here.

I welcome you with kindness.

I welcome you with kindness.

I am calm,

Calm,

Comfortable within my body.

I am comfortable within my body.

I am comfortable within my mind,

Within my mind.

Remember your intention is to care for the pain rather than push it away.

I welcome you with kindness.

I am calm,

Comfortable within my body.

I am comfortable within my mind.

Releasing any tension in your body,

Just noticing it and allowing your body to be soft as you continue to return to your breath.

Inhale,

Exhale,

Exhale.

Relax your spine to elongate,

Your thoughts to ease,

Breathing in your spirit with your gentle breath and grace in life.

Thank you.
