Hello and welcome to this meditation for opening your heart.
I invite you to find a comfortable seating position or lie down,
Whatever feels more comfortable for you.
We're going to start by focusing on our breath.
Feeling the inhale and exhale.
Inviting air in and releasing air back out.
Feel the gentle rise of your belly.
Feel it fall.
Don't try to change anything,
Just observe.
With every exhale let go of any unnecessary tension.
Let go of any unwanted thoughts.
Anything that no longer serves you,
With every exhale just let it go.
With your mind's eye,
Imagine that you're floating on a river.
Feeling weightless.
Feeling the cold water on your skin.
The sun on your skin.
Wind.
Feel those sensations throughout your full body.
And allow the river to take you.
Allow yourself to just float on the river.
You don't know where the river is going,
But you know you're safe and protected.
You allow yourself just to float.
Come to a lake,
Large lake.
You notice all the surroundings.
The flowers.
The birds in the sky.
Allow yourself to be there floating in this lake.
You notice that in the lake there are lotus flowers.
White lotus flowers.
Floating gently on the water.
You float towards them and pick one up.
You allow yourself to sit on the edge of the water on the bank.
And you concentrate,
You focus all your attention onto this white lotus flower.
You notice that in this lotus flower a small light begins to emerge from the centre.
The light begins to get larger until the full lotus flower is radiating white light.
Radiate in warmth and heat and love.
Then you notice that that same white light begins to emerge from your heart.
Begins glowing in your heart.
Radiating outwards.
It begins to spread.
Spread from your heart throughout your full body.
Through your belly,
Your chest,
Your back,
Down your hips,
To your legs,
To your feet.
Throughout your full arms,
Into your fingertips.
Up your neck,
To your head.
Until your full body is radiating this white light.
It begins to spread from you to your surroundings.
To the grass that you're sitting on.
To the lake and the river.
To all the flowers and the trees.
To the sky.
Until everywhere around you is surrounded in white light.
This white light is unconditional love.
You can feel the free flowing of love with every inhale.
You accept more of this white light and love.
With every exhale you give this love back.
This is your true state.
This is unconditional love.
Feel it surround you.
Sit with this feeling of calm,
Protection.
Know that this love is always there.
That you're always connected to the universe.
To everything around you.
You are loved.
You are safe.
You're divine.
Slowly this light begins to come back to you.
Comes away from the sun,
From the sky,
From the trees,
The grass,
The flowers.
Until it comes back into your body.
Until it comes back to your heart.
Take a second to feel the love in your heart.
To know that that love grew from your heart is always there no matter what that love inside of you is always with you.
You're still holding the lotus flower.
And this lotus flower represents that love inside of you.
It represents that true state.
Put the lotus flower back in the water.
And just stay seated.
Observing.
Feeling that love.
Knowing that at any time you can come back to this place.
You can come back to your heart and feel that love spread from your heart.
Connect you with everything.
Slowly you emerge back into the lake.
Allow yourself to float back.
Float back to yourself.
To the present moment.
To your body.
Invite you to slowly come back.
Feel the sensations in your body right now.
Slowly awaken the physical body.
Feel the breath again.
Feel your belly rise and fall.
Your chest expanding.
Perhaps you can wiggle your toes and fingers and just come back to the present moment.
And keep your eyes shut and just sit and notice how you feel now.
Remember that this is something you can always come back to.
This love and feeling is always within you.
You're always safe and protected.
And you are love.
Whenever you find yourself in a stressful situation or perhaps you just feel disconnected.
Just come back to this.
Come back to the white light in your heart.
Whenever you feel ready you can open your eyes and begin to live today from your heart.
