Sometimes we just need to take a few minutes to ground ourselves,
To get out of our mind and into our body.
It can be so easy for our thoughts to feel like a broken record and cause us to emotionally spiral.
It's time to take just a few moments for ourselves to give ourselves space to ground our bodies,
To restore our energy back to ourselves.
You can do this sitting or lying down.
If you're sitting,
Try to sit up with your back straight,
Feet flat on the floor,
Hands resting on your thighs.
Feel your feet on the ground beneath you.
Feel the seat supporting your body.
If you're lying down,
Feel the back of your body supported.
You are safe.
You are supported.
Put your awareness on where your body is supported.
We're going to be doing a triactive breath.
All the breathing is through the mouth and not through the nose.
This consists of two inhales through the mouth,
First breath in through the belly,
Second breath into your chest,
Followed by an exhale through the mouth.
It goes like this.
I'm going to start this breath with you for the first few breaths and then I'll let you continue the triactive breath along with the music and encouraging words from me for about five minutes with me intermittently joining you.
It's very common to feel a little lightheaded and your mind will want to take over control but the body knows how to heal and process.
Feel free to pause or slow down if you need to or even speed up if you need to and do what's right for you.
When you're ready,
Close your eyes and let's begin.
Keep it going.
You've got this.
That's it.
The body knows how to heal.
The body knows how to process the emotions.
Release the mind and allow your body to process the emotions.
Release what no longer serves you.
Circulate.
Process.
Release.
Let your body move the energy out.
Release.
You've got this.
You're doing great.
Let your body release what no longer serves you.
You've been thinking and holding all of this in your body and it's time to let it go.
Letting it go through your breath.
We're in the last 30 seconds of our session.
Keep it going.
Let the body release through the breath.
And now,
Release the triactive breath.
Return to your natural breathing.
Feel that.
Feel the peacefulness of your body.
This is what it feels like to release and let go.
This is what it feels like to get out of your head and into your body.
Sit with this feeling as long as you can.
Remember this feeling.
This feeling of surrender.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes and come back to your day with this new energy.
