Visualizing a happy place.
So we're going to go into the depths of our imagination for this practice and see yourself and feel yourself being in a place that makes you really happy.
So getting yourself into any comfortable position.
Just making sure you feel quite cozy.
Whether that's with pillows or blankets.
Gently allowing your eyes to close.
And just feel the sensation of relaxation.
Just washing over your body.
Any tension just melting into the surface beneath you.
Allowing your jaw to open.
And just your breath to slow down.
Just bringing an awareness now to your tummy.
I'm just allowing that to just soften as well.
Just paying attention to any sounds.
That are around you.
Now,
We're gonna go to our happy place.
So something might have entered your mind already that you consider to be a happy place.
If not,
It could be.
.
.
Tropical beach.
A spot in the mountains somewhere.
And forest.
It doesn't have to be a real place,
It can be completely imagined.
Just transporting yourself there now.
Just bringing up the details of your own visualisation.
Taking a good look.
Around you.
What would you like to see?
And if you can't see a clear picture,
Just imagining.
My brain is very good at this.
And in this happy place.
What would you imagine the sounds might be?
As if you were turning up a dial,
Just turning up those sounds.
If you've conjured up some sounds that are not so pleasant,
Just leaving those ones.
Perhaps it's the sound of water.
Wildlife.
Good chatting,
Laughing.
Or perhaps there's no people in your happy place and you're just alone.
The sound of your own breath.
Are there any smells associated with your happy place?
Putting all these things together,
How do you feel in this space?
That give you a sense of calm.
Peace.
Contentment.
Or something else.
Can you feel your body relaxing?
As you bring about these details of your happy place.
Perhaps allowing yourself a smile.
We're gonna laugh.
Feeling that joy.
You can bring about by just your imagination.
What else can you see?
What else can you hear?
What else can you smell?
What else can you feel?
Just allowing all this to be present.
In your body just noticing,
You have to take a snapshot.
Of how your body feels right now.
Just noticing the details of that.
If you want to come back to it later.
What labels would you give it?
So you could enter that relaxed space again.
Gently now,
Just staying with this feeling,
But opening your eyes.
This is providing a connection.
With the practice and your day-to-day life.
Thanks for practicing.
