Future You Experiences role is something that really sets you on fire in a metaphorical sense.
It might be,
You know,
Experiencing watching a sunset with your family in Thailand.
So,
We're going to split this into three different practices,
And it's going to be a combination of written exercise and then visualization.
So,
You will need pen and paper.
Preferably a pen and paper because then you can,
You know,
Maybe draw anything you want or make it as a list or write sentences.
Just gives you a bit more freedom really.
So getting yourself into a sitting position.
Let's just bring ourselves to the present moment.
Just feeling the air coming in and out of your body.
And just allowing everything to just slow down a little.
And just bring in your attention to your experiences.
So,
I want you to imagine that finances are unlimited,
So don't allow yourself to get stuck in,
I can't afford that.
So,
This is maybe thinking around,
You know,
In a few years' time,
Or just at some point in your lifetime.
So I'm just going to give you some pointers.
You might be writing already,
Just jotting down any experiences you would like to have in your lifetime.
It could be in your love life.
Relationships.
Sexuality.
Could be experiences with family and friends.
Maybe places you want to travel to.
Things you want to see.
Could be what you want to do in your social life.
Any activities.
Hobbies.
Perhaps things that you've always wanted to do and you've never got round to.
Or maybe things you did when you were younger and you always wanted to pick up again.
Any sports,
Maybe.
And how about the kind of home that you would like to live in?
Remember,
Money is no object.
And even maybe what car.
You would like to drive.
For it to be yours.
And what about,
What kind of clothes would you like to wear?
And anything else that comes up.
And experiences you'd like to have.
And then just resetting.
Noticing your breath again.
I'm just looking at your list.
I'm just choosing one right now.
Choosing one.
And then gently closing your eyes.
We're just gonna visualize.
Thing that you've written on your list.
As if you already have it.
So just bringing up those different senses,
What you can see.
What you can hear.
How it feels.
Really just allowing it to be bright and vivid.
In your mind.
You might want to develop your visualization a little bit more.
Who else is there?
Maybe run it like a little movie.
If your mind's wandering off on other things,
Just quickly opening your eyes and seeing that same thing on your list again.
And then closing them and bringing that visualization up again.
Again,
This is a practice if you're not used to doing visualizations.
Might be tricky.
Some people can't visualize,
You know,
In pictures,
Maybe it's more sounds,
However it shows up for you.
OK,
And just choosing another thing from your list,
I'm just going to do one more.
So,
We're just choosing one more.
Closing your eyes again.
I'm visualizing that.
What do you see?
I'll do hair.
What do you feel?
How does that feel in your body to visualize this experience that you really want to have?
And just remembering that when we visualize like this,
Our brain doesn't necessarily know that it's not real.
And actually what can happen is that,
Excuse me,
There's a part in our brain called the reticular activating system that literally wants to help us go and get this.
So if it's something that makes us happy,
We might start thinking about ways,
And even though it might feel like an impossibility right now.
This is why visualization is so powerful.
So obviously you can do this with everything on your list,
But we're going to finish the practice for today.
So,
Gently opening your eyes.
And just looking around you.
Bringing you back to the present moment.
Okay,
Well done.
