Most of us have a tendency to live in the past or the future.

How often do you find yourself thinking about what happened yesterday,

Or what might happen tomorrow,

Or next month?

No matter what's going on in your life right now,

No matter how many thoughts you had racing through your mind just before this,

I invite you to take a moment to stop mentally living in the thought loop of when,

And to take these next few minutes to be exactly where you already are.

Coached by Nikki Dyer Close your eyes and take a deep deep breath in,

Breathing in through the nose,

Deeper than any breath you've taken so far today,

Feeling a physical release as you exhale the expectations,

Feeling the chest and belly expand as you inhale,

And as you breathe out,

Focus on purposefully letting go of the pressures to perform,

Letting go of the need to be better than who you already are,

Of the internal pressure and stress that creeps in and overtakes your moments of happiness,

Feeling your muscles soften and relax,

Breathing in deeply,

Allowing your thoughts to come and go.

One of the easiest ways to be in the present moment is by noticing your surroundings.

How often do you take time out of your day to actually look around you?

Take this opportunity now to experience what being in the present feels like for you.

Take a deep breath in and on the count of three,

Open your eyes and look at the room around you.

One,

Two,

Three.

Bring your attention to how the walls look,

Noticing if there are any photographs or artwork,

Experiencing the color and how it makes you feel.

Bring your gaze up to the ceiling now and detecting any patterns or shapes,

Remembering if there are any windows and if there are,

See how they reveal a small glimpse of the outside world that lies just beyond them.

When you stop to look at what's around you,

It instantly forces your mind to be where you are.

Physically speaking,

You are always living in the present because you cannot get back any moment in time that has passed and you cannot live in any future moments until they are here.

And because of this,

You will always be exactly where you need to be without any trying or effort to do so.

You will always be exactly where you should be.

Once again,

I invite you to gently close your eyes,

Finding yourself in the darkness,

Refocusing on your breath and the brief pause that happens between every inhale and exhale as you encourage the pause to become just a little longer,

Feeling the steady rhythm of your heartbeat,

Giving yourself permission to be fully supported by every second that passes you by,

Recognizing how time moves through you and realizing that there is comfort in knowing that as each second passes,

Another always arrives to take its place.

The concept of time is a master to all and a subservient to none and any illusions of being able to control time is just that,

An illusion.

Time only exists when you think about the past and the future.

In moments where you are not allowing yourself to live in the present,

You are the creator of your own reality.

You live in an abundant universe where there is always enough part of being present.

Is taking the time to be grateful for what you have now,

Not what you had in the past or what you hope to have in the future.

Go through life being a little less worried,

Ultimately it will be okay,

Everything is going to be fine.

Be whoever it is you are,

Be whoever you want to be,

Don't forget to look around you and to appreciate all the things that are already going right.

I'm so proud of you.
