So in this meditation we'll focus on one important element of loving-kindness a desire for ourselves and for others to be happy taking a moment or two just to settle into this meditation allowing yourself to separate from anything that you may have been doing any busy activity,
Letting go of any thoughts that have been preoccupying you setting aside anything that is troubling you at the moment as best you can reminding yourself that this is a precious time for nourishing yourself for looking after yourself,
For allowing yourself a time of care and attention taking a moment to allow yourself to feel into your connection with the ground the physical connection,
Notice through the soles of the feet or the seat bones how you are connected with the surface below itself perhaps ultimately supported by our Mother Earth closing your eyes if that's comfortable allowing yourself to smile noticing that as you do your body relaxes there is less tension,
When we smile we feel hardened when we see another person smile it's hard not to smile back smiling is contagious so we might allow ourselves to smile and imagine too that the area of your whole chest could form itself into the shape of a smile softening that area of the heart,
In smiling bringing a feeling of joy into the heart inviting joy,
Not feeling guilty to do so to be whole we need to be happy and to have compassion for others a happy person is one who offers smiles you might like to bring someone who is very close to you to mind at the moment allow them to be your focus and just imagine sitting quietly with them,
Sharing a smile as you do so,
Seeing them open up to smile in return imagine them being bathed in bright,
Pure white,
Light energy clearing away everything that might cause them concern see them being happy and as you smile together knowing that together you can change the world bringing smiles to more people bringing smiles to others who in turn might find their own way to smile in this state feeling serene,
Beautiful peace being calm,
Feeling a sense of connection with each other and beyond when we allow ourselves to be living and breathing the principle of compassion we become like a channel of healing and encouragement to others we recognize that everyone and everything in the world is interdependent that every thought and action has an effect that we are a part of an infinitely changing web of cause and effect allowing ourselves through our smiles,
Through our feeling of compassion to generate positive causes to be positive links in that chain allowing ourselves to offer only to be positive causes that have great effect allowing ourselves to feel only positive feelings a desire for others to be blessed,
To be touched,
To be healed,
To be happy in seeing others happy,
We too can know happiness being free from worries from putting our focus on things which may have a very temporary impact those material things that don't really bring true happiness but finding happiness by softening our hearts inviting joy into our lives feeling present in the moment,
Connected,
Blessed and loved and so gently now,
Taking a moment or two just to notice where you are physically remind yourself that you exist within a body that you're given senses to enjoy,
To explore to experience the wonder of being in this world and when you're ready,
Open your eyes
