Making a few simple changes to your meditation practice can bring about a large impact for others, while at the same time, deeply enriching your own felt experience and personal growth. In this gentle and engaging course, we explore one way to make such change–combing the enlivening effects of lovingkindness meditation with the powerful impacts of focused intention holding. Research carried out over many years and involving tens of thousands of people provides compelling evidence for the power of intention (a topic that’s especially been investigated and championed by the author Lynne McTaggart). The purpose and power of lovingkindness or metta meditation is also well known to many, and is advocated by most leading spiritual traditions. Taken together, while willing a positive and specific outcome for another being or situation, meditation can become not only a time for our own inner nourishment and sharpened mindfulness, but truly connect us with our hearts, as we both receive and give beautiful light energy to inspire and heal. The effect is what we might call a “win: win:win”–receiving the gift of lovingkindness for ourselves, impacting the lives of others in very tangible and often life-changing ways, and feeling the uplifting flow of joy that comes when impacts are felt. The course assumes no previous experience with either lovingkindness meditation or intention holding. However, it’s most likely to appeal to individuals who are experienced meditators who wish to enhance their current practice or who are ready to explore approaches to meditation beyond what they are familiar with.
