Be gently guided into a peaceful and happy place in your heart, before opening into a centered prayer focused on a person who is dear to you. This beautiful practice is rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition, but should be suitable for people of any faith tradition or any who hold out to a greater power.

Coming now to a time of centering prayer.

Getting settled,

Feeling comfortable,

Feeling anchored in the present moment.

If it feels comfortable,

You may like to close your eyes.

Allow yourself to set your intention to go within,

To connect with your heart space,

To that place where you can offer your prayer authentically with full conviction.

What you want to happen,

Not just what might be a passing thought.

And join with me in a familiar approach to centering.

To choose a word or a phrase that you can use as an anchor,

As a means for drawing your attention as you go within.

And each time your mind starts to wander,

Coming back to this simple mantra,

Letting that be your focus until you find that your busy mind is calm and even the mantra itself seems to disappear.

Not needing to overdo,

Not needing to over concentrate.

To remember the words,

But just letting them fade as you find yourself sinking deep into your heart.

You may have a mantra that you prefer to use.

I suggest if you do not,

If you're from the Christian tradition,

You may like to use the mantra.

Te te malcuta.

Which means,

Come,

Come,

God's vision.

If you prefer the words of the familiar English Lord's prayer rather than these Aramaic words.

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done.

Te te malcuta.

Just repeating those words or whatever words you want to use now.

Using those as your focus.

Seeing them like an anchor that's dropping down within your body.

Securing itself in the base of your heart.

Te te malcuta.

Say the words slowly at whatever pace feels right.

And when you find yourself steady,

Your mind settled.

Just allowing the words to fade.

Not concentrating on them,

But just letting go.

And now in this place of being wonderfully centered,

Focus your attention,

Your heart-mind attention on someone you deeply love.

And from your heart,

Just wish them to be happy and at peace.

To enjoy bliss.

See them bathed in pure white light.

Ask God to bless them richly.

That their lives may be whole,

Fulfilled,

Touched by beauty,

Touched by love.

And they will feel so uplifted,

So complete,

So at home,

And so loved.

Keep that intention going in your heart,

Finding whatever words express what you want to will for them now.

You may like to hold out your hands as though inviting the Holy Spirit to fill their whole life.

To fill them now.

To give them total comfort.

Total rest.

See them embraced in love.

And let your higher self express its love,

Knowing that their higher self will hear,

Will receive.

Trust God that your prayer has been heard.

And now come back to focusing on that anchor in your heart that you let rest earlier.

As now,

Very gently,

You begin the process of coming back into your mind and allowing that anchor to be,

As it were,

Slowly raised up again.

As you too allow your attention to come back into the fullness of your body.

Being aware of any sensations in the room or place where you are.

Starting to notice sounds that might be outside.

Becoming aware of where you are in this time and space.

Thanking God for hearing your prayer and asking for protection through the remainder of your day.

That you too may be blessed with love and light.

And when you feel ready,

Gently opening your eyes and coming back into the current space.

This is a Beautiful meditation. Thank you. Please consider a lower toned bell, or lowering the sound of your bell on future recordings… For people like myself with a noise sensitivity (hyperacusis-tinnitus) 🙏🙏🙏

I found this meditation prayer of Clive’s quite by accident ... or was it?! It was perfect to allow a moment to center and send loving kindness to a loved one. 🌸🙏🏻

Thank you for this centering Metta meditation. Very simple yet beautiful. After reading the reviews, I also felt the need to include Metta for those who seem to have a negative perception of this meditation. May they be happy, healthy, and at peace with all viewpoints, beliefs and ideas that may be different from their own 🙏🏻 Namaste 🕉

Thank you for your timely and powerful prayer. My mentally ill nephew is in jail. His mother is frantic, as is our family as his medications are withheld. I felt the weight of the injustices and feel his pain and confusion today. I felt powerless. Your meditative prayer reminded me God is power, so I prayed for my nephew to know that and feel God's presence. Again thank you. Namaste
