From Overwhelm To Wholeness - Remembering You Are Not Broken
In this 3 Principles meditation, we gently explore the truth that feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. Overwhelm is not a flaw to fix. It’s a passing experience. As you reconnect with your innate peace, resilience, and clarity, you’ll remember that wholeness isn’t something to earn. It’s already who you are.

Welcome,
You are here and that is already enough.
This is a space for gentle truth,
Soft remembering and inner recognition.
This time together is not about fixing,
Striving or achieving anything.
It's simply about remembering what has never left you,
Your innate wholeness,
Your wellbeing.
You might not feel that right now and that's okay.
This is a space where you don't need to feel any particular way to belong.
So let's begin by arriving right here,
Right now.
Just let your body begin to settle into wherever you are.
You could be sitting or lying down.
You could be supported by the ground beneath you.
Let yourself be held.
Let yourself land.
And let yourself soften.
Allow your eyes to gently close if that feels good to you.
And let your breath draw your attention inward.
Begin with a long inhale through your nose and a soft,
Steady exhale through your mouth.
Let your shoulders drop just a little more with every breath you take.
Let your belly soften and expand.
Take two more deep breaths like that.
Inhale gently,
Not forcing.
And exhale slowly.
See yourself letting go of the tension you didn't even know you were holding.
And again,
Inhaling gently and exhaling slowly.
Notice where your body makes contact with the surface beneath you.
Feel the weight of your back or legs.
Let gravity do the work.
Let your body rest.
You don't need to hold yourself up right now.
The Earth is doing that for you.
You are safe here.
There is nothing to figure out.
Nothing you need to do.
Just breathing.
Just being.
Allow yourself to settle in even deeper.
Perhaps you have arrived at this moment feeling overwhelmed.
Full.
Heavy.
Frantic.
Numb.
Tired.
Overwhelmed can wear many masks.
It can sound like an anxious mind racing through lists.
It can feel like pressure sitting heavy in the chest.
It can show up as disconnection,
Procrastination or simply wanting to disappear for a while.
Whatever your experience is,
You are not doing anything wrong.
There is nothing wrong with you for feeling this way.
Even if your thoughts are telling you otherwise.
Let that sink in for a moment.
There is nothing wrong with you.
Overwhelm is not a flaw.
It's not a sign that you are failing.
It is not proof that you are broken.
It's a natural sign that your system is full.
That you've reached capacity.
And something within you is asking for care.
Overwhelm is really a visitor.
A messenger.
A momentary state created by the mind.
Not the truth of who you are.
When we stop resisting its presence we begin to understand what it's trying to show us.
Just breathe that in with me.
Let that breath remind you.
This is temporary.
This is not who you are.
You are the sky,
Not the passing weather.
Of course the mind means well.
It tries to protect you,
To solve things,
To stay on top of everything.
But in that effort it often creates a whirlwind of urgency.
Thoughts pile on top of thoughts.
Stories layer over stories.
And before you know it you feel buried.
But the stories the mind tells,
They are not truth.
They are not the measure of your worth or capacity.
And they don't always need to be believed.
Sometimes the kindest thing we can do is simply notice the story without engaging with it.
Overwhelm arises when the mind tries to do too much,
Too fast,
Too perfectly.
And when you believe those thoughts it feels like something is wrong with you.
It feels like something must be fixed before you can rest.
But what if that isn't true?
What if the feeling is not a flaw,
But feedback?
A gentle inner signal that your mind is in overdrive.
That your body needs a pause,
Not a push.
And what if you did not need to argue with it,
Fix it or fight it?
What if you could let it pass like a wave instead of swimming against it?
Let yourself breathe again.
Inhale and exhale.
Let your breath be your permission slip to pause.
To come back to what is real and grounded in this moment.
The body knows what the mind forgets.
Let's come back into your body now even more fully.
Scan slowly from the top of your head,
Down across your forehead.
Can your eyebrows soften?
Your eyes,
Can they gently rest in their sockets?
Down into your cheeks,
Your jaw.
See if it can unclench a little.
Soften the tongue,
Relax the throat.
Your face doesn't need to hold anything right now.
Move down into your neck and shoulders.
Perhaps rolling them gently.
Let any tension you find begin to melt.
Give your shoulders permission to let go of the weight they've been holding.
Now bring your attention into your chest.
Not to analyze or judge,
But to feel.
Is there movement there?
Tightness?
Tingling?
Can you simply notice what is?
No need to understand it,
Just let it be known.
And now your belly,
Let it be soft.
Let it rise and fall naturally with the breath.
There is nothing to hold in,
Nothing to brace against.
You are safe enough in this moment to soften.
Keep scanning downward into your hips,
Thighs,
Knees.
Down into your calves,
Ankles,
Feet.
All the way into your soles of your feet.
Feel the ground again.
You are supported.
You are here.
Notice the aliveness in your body.
The subtle sensations,
The pulsing,
The warmth or coolness.
Let it remind you that you are here.
That you are more than the thoughts running through your head.
That you are not broken.
You are alive.
You are whole.
Take a breath with me now.
One of release.
A breath to let go of the belief that you should be handling everything better.
That you should not feel this way.
That there is something wrong with you for struggling.
Release the judgment that says you should be more productive,
More present,
More perfect.
That narrative is not yours to carry.
It was handed to you and you can hand it back.
You are doing the best with the thinking you have in the moment.
And the beauty of that is your thinking always changes.
It is designed to.
It moves,
It shifts just like weather pattern.
Overwhelm is not permanent.
It does not mean you are stuck.
It does not mean to push harder.
It might just mean your system is calling for a different rhythm.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is pause.
Let the storm pass through.
Without trying to push it away or hold it back.
What if peace could come without earning it?
You are allowed to rest in the middle of it.
You are allowed to be gentle with yourself.
You are allowed to stop fighting and start listening.
Listening inward.
Listening home.
Beneath all the noise,
All the pressure,
All the self-judgment,
There is something in you that has never been touched by overwhelm.
Something deeper,
Wiser,
Quieter.
Your essence.
Your peaceful nature.
Your wholeness.
You may have forgotten it.
You may have been too busy or too stressed to feel it.
But it is not gone.
It is never gone.
It is not fragile.
And it cannot be lost.
It is there in the breath.
It is there in the stillness between thoughts.
It is there in the moments when you pause long enough to remember who you really are.
Let yourself return to that now.
So let's pause now.
Take a full breath in.
And a soft breath out.
And sit for a moment in silence.
No effort.
No striving.
Just remembering.
You are already whole.
You do not need to be fixed.
You do not need to prove your worth through productivity.
You do not need to earn your way back to peace.
You were never far from it to begin with.
You are already whole.
You always have been.
Even when you forget.
Even when it doesn't feel that way.
Overwhelm might have made you feel otherwise.
But feelings are not facts.
They are just temporary messages of the mind.
So the next time you feel that wave of pressure rise.
Pause.
Breathe.
Come back to this truth.
You are not broken.
This feeling will pass.
And there is always calm beneath the storm.
You don't need to figure everything out to return to clarity.
You simply need to remember that it's already within you.
Let your breath lead you back again and again.
Now let's take three grounding breaths together.
Inhale.
Fill your belly and lungs.
Exhale.
Release.
Again,
Inhale fully.
And exhale slowly.
One more breath.
Inhale peace.
And exhale any remaining tension.
Gently begin to bring movement back into your body.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Roll your shoulders.
Notice how your body feels now.
Let your breath continue to guide you.
When you are ready,
Let your eyes open.
Take in your space.
Notice what has shifted even subtly.
This wholeness.
This calm.
This presence.
It has always been here.
And it's still here now.
Thank you for allowing yourself this space.
Thank you for remembering.
You are not broken.
You are whole.
