In this meditation,
We will simply acknowledge the moment-to-moment awareness of change as I guide you into the quality of open presence through the doorway of sounds.
We at times find ourselves caught up in repetitive thought patterns or stuck in body sensations that cause us so much suffering.
Our bodies may tighten,
Our hearts may become closed down,
And our minds are anything but relaxed.
I invite you to open your perception of attention to the widest lens as we invite our awareness to expand,
To become open like the vast open sky.
We begin by opening our attention and loving awareness,
Not to the breath or body,
But to sound.
The doorway of sound are the ears.
Allow sounds to arise and pass through without searching for sounds,
Sensing into the open spaciousness of the mind which is aware of all things.
Open as if you are sky,
No inside or outside,
No small space of only mind,
But expansive and open and flowing.
Working in this moment now with the gentle observation of sounds,
Sounds inside the body and sounds outside the body.
Sounds arising in the expansive space of awareness,
Perhaps hearing traffic,
Sounds from others,
Sounds of nature,
Wind blowing,
Birds chirping,
Dogs barking,
Perhaps even your own breath.
With loving awareness,
Hearing and witnessing sound without labeling them good or bad,
I like this sound,
I don't like that sound,
Just receive sounds.
This sound is a tone of t Hepat Knowing your conscious awareness itself,
A vast open being of consciousness,
Just hearing sounds,
Experiencing sounds,
Sounds arising and passing like clouds in the expansive sky.
Receiving sounds,
Allowing sounds to pass as you inhabit the expansive space of sky.
Remembering you are the vast being of awareness as sounds arise and pass.
Not limiting sounds to your ears or your mind,
Expanding yourself to experience the soundscape flowing.
Sound arising and passing in the sky of open awareness.
Just like the weather,
Emotions may appear like storm clouds,
Wispy clouds,
Clouds in different shapes and intensities.
The same with sounds,
As sounds come and as sounds go.
Perhaps now becoming aware of the body and recognizing there is no solid body,
But sensations of body,
Pressure,
Tingling,
Warmth or coolness,
Softening now to feel the ever flowing energy of being.
Know there is spaciousness within the body,
Perhaps sensing the entire body breathing itself.
Sensing the entire body,
Experience sounds arising,
Experiencing the sounds passing.
Not limiting sounds,
Allowing sounds to pass as you inhabit the expansive sky.
Not limiting sounds,
Allowing sounds to pass as you inhabit the entire body.
Softening now to receive sounds.
Knowing you are the vast space of awareness,
Holding all things with loving awareness.
Not limiting sounds.
Knowing the connection of all things as you feel into the compassion for yourself and all beings.
Come home to yourself,
To your true nature of being,
Sitting here,
Experiencing sound and experiencing the connection of all life.
With the next ring of bells,
When you are ready,
Gently opening your eyes and expanding your awareness to seeing as you return to your day.
