Today we give thanks for our most precious and wonderful possession.
Our bodies.
So first let's take a moment to ground into our space.
Giving your mind and body.
A little time to settle.
To arrive.
Into this present moment.
And take a nice,
Long,
Slow breath in.
And exhaling in your own time.
And doing that again.
Inhaling.
.
.
And exhaling.
And noticing your body.
Settling a little more.
First,
Dear buddy.
I want to thank you for carrying me for all these years.
For being so resilient.
All the times I have overworked you.
Overpushed and abused you.
Thank you for taking that extra step.
For carrying that extra weight.
For climbing that extra height.
Thank you,
Dear body.
For listening to my moans and groans and grumbles.
And thank you for listening.
Even when I did not listen.
I didn't listen to the nudges you gave.
The prods to slow down.
To rest.
To ease up.
So today I take this time to stop.
And to notice you.
To appreciate you.
To give you.
The gratitude and respect you deserve.
I thank you,
Dear body.
Thank you fish.
For holding me.
Feet that ground me in the soil.
Thank you fish.
Thank you legs that carry me on all my adventures.
Thank you,
Legs.
Thank you hips that carry me forward.
And sometimes backwards when I'm scared.
But you hold me.
And wait patiently.
Waiting till I'm ready to move again.
Thank you,
Hibs.
Thank you,
Stomach,
For nourishing me.
And for giving me little nudges.
Little messages that I don't always hear.
Thank you,
Stomach.
And thank you,
Heart.
For beating.
And for loving so hard.
Thank you,
Heart.
Thank you lungs for the breath.
Source of life.
Thank you,
Lungs.
Thank you,
Truth and voice.
For helping me express a life so full.
And thank you,
Lips.
To kiss the ones I love so dear.
Thank you,
Wise.
For the beauty and wonder I see each day.
Thank you,
Brain.
I know I work you hard.
But today and every day.
I will let you rest.
In stillness and peace.
Even for a little while.
Dear body,
Did I say how much I love and respect you?
How much gratitude I hold in my heart for you.
So let me take a moment,
Body.
To gently hold you.
Carry you softly.
And wrap you in that love and gratitude.
Please know,
Dear body,
How grateful I am.
Their body.
I love and thank you.
Taking a final deep breath in.
Holding that gratitude in your heart.
And exhaling in your own time.
Giving your body.
A moment to come back into.
Your space.
And get ready.
For a beautiful day.
Thank you for joining me.
