Plugging into the earth's energy that holds us. Provides our home, our sense of safety and connection. This meditation guides you to grounding your mind body and soul with the earth's energy. Inspired by practices I've undertaken and my insistent need to release and let go this feels ever useful in a world that pulls us away from nature.

Just finding a comfortable seat or perhaps taking the invitation to lie down.

And whether it's your sit bones or your hips and your upper back and the back of your head that are in contact with the ground.

Just allowing these points of contact to sink into the earth.

That earth energy that is beneath you.

Just allowing the body to feel every part of you that is in connection.

That is being held.

Being supported.

Melting into the earth.

Allow all parts of your body to be heavy and held.

Allow all parts of your face to relax and let go.

Simply tune into your breath.

Without trying to change the breath just noticing how it feels today.

Where it travels.

Is it shallow or deep?

Long or short?

Is it somewhere in the middle?

And just simply asking your breath to deepen and lengthen.

Breathing in through the nose if that feels clear.

Filling up the belly like a balloon.

And as you gently part the lips exhaling through the mouth.

Allow that belly to drop back in towards the spine.

Inhaling filling up.

Exhaling letting go.

Just following your breath with that full permission to be held by the earth.

Full permission to melt into the earth.

Those earth energies beneath you.

The ancients.

The earth people.

The earth souls holding you.

Giving you home.

Sending you with safety.

Being that container.

And if the mind wanders gently bringing it back to the breath.

Letting everything melt with the exhale into the earth.

Any troubles any worries.

Let them drift down into the earth through your sit bones or through that portal at the back of your heart.

Allowing energy to drain away.

For the earth to take it as nourishment.

Maybe you feel like it's an energy you no longer need.

You might even categorize it as negative.

But just knowing that all things can be fertilizers for the earth.

Allow it to melt down and away into that earth energy.

From those points of contact with the floor imagine there's a tap that you can open to allow now a full flooding draining of anything that you need to let go of.

Watch it drain away and into the earth fertilizing and nourishing mother earth beneath you.

Nothing we can give back in this way whilst releasing and letting go of anything we don't need.

Allow those exhales to be long and the inhale to match.

Filling draining letting go.

And then gently bringing your awareness back to your body.

All the points that are in contact with the floor.

That earth energy beneath you.

Taking a bigger deeper inhale filling up.

Sigh it out let it go.

Inhaling deeply.

Exhaling completely.

And if you'd like to take an om to close the practice or if you'd like to just receive that om.

Inhaling to om.

Om.
