So just taking a moment to find a comfortable position lying down or sitting.
Find some length through the spine and close down the eyes and tuning into your breath.
As you begin to tune into your breath just noticing how you feel today,
How your breath feels,
Any areas of tension in the body or in the mind or the breath.
Breathing into those areas of tension,
Exhaling,
Letting go.
As you focus on your breath just trying to change to a belly breath,
Breathing in through the nose filling up the belly,
Exhaling through the mouth and letting go.
Into the nose filling up the belly,
Exhaling dropping the belly towards the spine.
In through the nose and out through the mouth,
Nothing in the chest,
All into the belly.
And as you continue to focus on your breath,
Just allowing any distractions or thoughts to come with no judgment or labeling and to go as easily as they can.
And then gently bringing to your mind's eye the image of a beach.
Beautiful,
Soft,
Light colored sand beneath your feet.
A turquoise blue extending over to the horizon.
Gentle white crumbling waves on the shoreline.
As you imagine sitting on your beach,
Just breathe in the smell of the salty air.
Feel the peace in the calm,
Tranquility of the gentle waves.
And as you sit on your beach you see next to your pebble,
Picking up your pebble,
Right on your pebble with chalk,
An emotion or a feeling or something you wish to no longer hold on to in your life,
Something that no longer serves you.
Writing this down on your pebble,
You hold it in your hand and throw it far into the sea,
Watching the pebble sink as it blops into the sea,
Throwing away what you no longer wish to hold on to,
Something that no longer serves you.
You notice next to you another pebble,
You take this pebble and you write on it another emotion or feeling,
Maybe a situation,
Something that no longer serves you you wish to release.
Writing this on your pebble,
Hold it in your hand and throw it as far as you can into the sea,
Watching the waves just gently wash away your pebble.
One final time you pick up the last pebble that sits beside you on your sandy beach.
Writing on it one more thing you wish to release and let go of in your life.
Throw the pebble as far as you can into the sea,
Watching it sinking,
Knowing it will drift away with the tide,
No longer weighing you down or holding you back.
Just sitting and breathing on your beautiful beach,
Breathing in calm,
Exhaling and letting go of anything that no longer serves you.
Breathing in peace,
Exhaling and letting go.
Breathing in joy,
Exhaling and letting go.
And as the tide begins to push back and away from you,
You notice a little bift has been left on the shore for you.
You walk over to the edge of the tide,
Picking up your gift,
Holding it in your hand.
You feel its weight,
Its texture,
You see its colour and its size.
You're thankful for your gift and you place it in your pocket for safekeeping.
Knowing whenever you need this gift it's right there with you.
It's time to leave the beach and you're grateful for your peace and tranquility it brings.
As you leave,
You say your goodbyes and thank yous and slowly start to bring your awareness back to the room you're in.
Gently noticing any sounds that are closer to you,
Perhaps wriggling your toes and your fingers.
Bring your awareness back to your body and your breath.
And when you're ready just gently,
Slowly opening your eyes and taking with you for the day your gift and the peace and tranquility of the gentle waves at your beautiful beach.
