Take a moment to tune into your breath and feel the calming sounds of the waves. This little escape to the seaside will not only calm the body and mind and bring you back to your parasympathetic (calm) state but will also help to relieve stress and tension and allow the mind to focus on what's really important, the present moment. It is all we have and the only time that actually matters. So bring yourself back to this moment by taking yourself into your breath, your body and your true nature.

So just finding a nice comfortable position,

Finding some length through the spine,

Gently lifting the crown of the head,

Closing down the eyes and tuning into your breath.

Just taking this moment to simply notice your breath.

As you begin to watch your breath,

Notice how it changes.

Now as we change and notice our breath,

We can control the heart rate,

The amount of oxygen supply to the body and the cells.

And slow our thoughts and bring stillness to the mind and relaxation to the muscles.

Notice your breath,

Like the waves,

Breathing in through the nose,

Filling up the belly on the in-breath.

Breathing out of the mouth and relaxing the belly towards the spine.

Breathing in,

Filling up,

Exhaling,

Letting go.

Breathing at the top of your breath,

This moment of pause,

Of stillness,

Before you begin to exhale.

Even like the waves crashing on the shore,

That moment of pause,

Of stillness,

Before the tide starts to reach and retreat back to the sea.

Slowly wondering thoughts,

Gently bringing them back to your breath.

As you begin to inhale deeply into the belly,

Perhaps exhaling with a sigh and letting go,

Beginning to bring your awareness back to your surroundings,

Wriggling your toes and your fingers.

Starting to deepen the belly breath.

Inhaling deeply,

Exhaling,

Letting go.

Breathing deeply,

Filling up the belly,

Exhaling,

Letting everything go.

And you're ready,

Gently blinking open your eyes and returning back to the room.

Thank you for inviting us to the beach to share your practice with you. I enjoyed being there. The beach is my happy place, and I dropped into feeling happy and peaceful, easily. Thank you for creating this and sharing it with us!
