Space

Creating space from over-thinking and a distance from your work & actions - that allows for new perspectives and depths to emerge. Space is essential to us as creators - it is the emptiness from which all great ideas arise. In a world full of noise, it is vital that we return to a spacious silence - to a place where we can really hear and embody our creative force.

Welcome to this meditation of space. So I invite you to come into a comfortable seated position somewhere you can be with your spine straight and just take a couple of moments to really relax using your breath so we can take a deep inhale through the nose and exhale everything out through the mouth a couple more times like that we're just gonna begin by slowing the breath down now and keeping the breath through the nose so we're gonna inhale slowly and exhale slowly through the nose focusing our attention on the breath and it's natural for the mind to wander to different places so just concentrate on bringing it back concentrate on bringing your full attention to your breath keeping it constant keeping it slow and now at the top of the inhale we're gonna just hold for a little second holding the breath for like one second and then we exhale again and then we hold again for one second so as you're breathing now you're inhaling holding the breath just a little bit exhaling holding the breath or pausing just a little bit so continue to do this and every time you hold for that small moment every time you take that pause just take a moment to feel that sensation of space that you can create by doing this that kind of empty undefinable moment that comes from just holding in that little second and notice the mind or any need to label what this moment is what it should what it shouldn't be and just come back to really how it feels how this presence of space and spaciousness feels and you may even want to feel it with your heart so you may want to bring your awareness into your chest and as you inhale take this little pause feel the space as you exhale slow the breath constant pause feel the space you can even slow it down even more so you can pause for a little bit longer and really let yourself go really allow yourself to fall away to surrender into these empty moments these undefined moments and relaxing your breath now into a normal breathing pattern and we're just going to take this same quality of space that we've created and feel that in the body feel that in the heart concentrate on that sensation and we're going to expand the sensation out up into the throat up into the shoulders and really using your breath using your awareness kind of expanding this sensation out into all of your body into the tips of your toes of your fingers filling back of your head all parts of your body connected with this expanded sensation notice if you're feeling a little bit lighter and just really allow you may even want to kind of open your body open your chest a little bit feel like just allow for that space to fill you and on your next breath you're going to imagine that this space begins to fill the room that you're in so it kind of expands out from your skin you can even visualize the room that you're in keeping your eyes closed of course and just expanding this sensation this sense of space perceiving the space of the room expanding your inner space at once and just kind of pause and be with this whole environment just for a second now one more time so you're going to even expand out into the world out into the atmosphere around you the sky's the limit taking a slightly deeper breath now really letting it all just expand in towards infinity in towards everything and just allowing yourself to exist here beyond concept just in pure awareness releasing any tension that builds up in this process and just staying present to your breath and this sensation now on your next inhalation drawing some fresh new breath and bringing your awareness back so allowing it to come back from the outer edges of your imagination and all the way back into through the atmosphere through the skies through your surrounding area into your room and back into your body and feeling the sensation of your body feeling your contact points with where you're sitting feeling the temperature of the air and just using your breath now to calmly allow everything to integrate and settle taking a moment to thank yourself for taking this time for investing in your creativity and process thank you
