Welcome to your morning ritual.
In this practice we will start the day with a silence.
A silence where we can listen to our heart,
Embrace our compassionate self,
And plant the seeds,
Set our intentions for the day ahead.
So I invite you to just settle in to your body,
Finding a comfortable seated position.
Spine is straight and upright.
Face and jaw is relaxed.
And you're just going to come into an awareness of your breath.
Feeling a gentle rising up as you inhale.
And a gentle sinking down as you exhale.
So just connecting with these two simple sensations of rising and falling.
So as you connect to these sensations,
It's very normal to also have thoughts coming in.
What might happen in the day ahead.
Kind of a slight texture of fear or anxiety.
And I invite you just to take this opportunity to really observe,
Become aware and notice this texture or this thinking mind.
And you can just kind of release it on the exhale.
Trusting in your process.
Just coming into awareness.
The simple rising.
The simple falling.
Just kind of experimenting with this single focus.
Seeing how it feels in the body.
If the mind goes away,
If thoughts appear,
Compassionately accept them.
And feel you can let them go.
Continuing to use your breath as an anchor.
And the initiator of this subtle rising up and subtle sinking down.
And almost feel as a baby that you can kind of,
In experiencing these two simple sensations,
It's almost like a rocking.
It's almost like you can tell yourself through the calmness in your breath.
That everything exists here for you.
That you don't need to go into running or planning anything just yet.
And you can be here just cultivating this sense of trust and beingness.
And it may even feel a little bit unknown but I just want you to imagine now this,
This beingness bringing your awareness into your heart.
Seeing if you can really surrender to this sensation.
Really letting go of any thought,
Of any tension or hold in your body.
And almost just like falling back into this sense of being,
To this space.
And you kind of do this without forcing anything.
Just by opening your heart.
Breathing into it.
And redirecting your attention with compassion.
And instead of focusing on any thoughts or any definitions,
Or any worries,
Or any future preoccupations,
You just focus on the empty moments in between all of that.
You just focus on the space.
And notice how when you focus on the space,
You're kind of driven towards again this sensation in the heart.
This sensation of just breathing and being with it.
Letting down all the boundaries of mind and matter.
Just breathing into your being.
So into this spaciousness,
Into this sense of being that we've cultivated,
We're just going to set our minds up.
We're just going to plant some seeds.
And so I invite you now to contemplate and to connect to whatever it is within you that's going to energise your day.
Perhaps it's a quality of love,
Of compassion,
Of strength,
Of vigour.
Perhaps it's a delicateness,
An understanding,
A sensitivity.
Whatever it is,
Whatever resonates with you,
Just taking this opportunity now to embody that.
Right here,
Right now.
Couple of more breaths just with this sensation.
You don't have to think about it too much now,
Just really allow it to energetically integrate into you.
And as we bring this meditation to a close,
Just taking a moment to honour yourself for making this moment to set your mind up for the day.
Practise your ritual.
And for the day that you have ahead of you,
For all the possibilities it brings to grow and express these very qualities and natures within ourselves.
Taking a breath with all of that.
