Welcome to this grounding meditation.

This visualization is best when you're feeling overwhelmed,

Fearful,

Stressed,

Or angry.

It can help you feel more strong,

Solid,

Rooted,

And grounded.

Let's take several deep breaths as you relax your body.

Taking a slow breath in through your nose,

Pausing,

And then exhale slowly through your mouth,

Releasing and letting go.

Inhaling it again,

Breathing in,

Pausing,

And exhale,

Letting go through your mouth.

One more time,

Inhale through the nose,

Pause,

And exhale through the mouth,

Feeling the tension just melt away.

Imagine releasing all that stress on the exhale.

And take another deep breath on your own,

And exhaling,

Release.

And allow your breath to come back to its natural rhythm and pace.

Find a comfortable seat in a chair,

Cushion,

Or on the floor,

Wherever feels best for you in this moment.

In your mind,

I want you to imagine yourself for a moment standing on the earth barefoot,

But having your arms extended up in the air.

You feel the warm golden sunlight embracing your entire body.

The sunlight comes down to your head,

Top of your head.

You see this light enter your mind,

Taking with it all the anxiety,

Fears,

Worries,

Anger,

And stress with it,

And releasing it from your body.

You feel the gentle warmth from the sunlight spreading through your face,

Softening it,

Feeling the softness in your eyes and your jaw.

Feel this warmth releasing tension in your neck,

Melting down to your shoulders,

Feeling them release and soften.

Feel the sunshine down your arms,

Into your hands,

Letting go,

Letting go.

Feel the warmth coming down your back,

Upper back,

Mid-back,

And lower back,

Noticing in your chest and belly,

Releasing.

Feeling the warmth going into your hips,

Taking away any tightness or sensation that may be there.

Feeling the warmth coming down through your thighs,

Softening them.

Feeling the sunlight through your knees,

Your calves,

Connecting you more to the earth.

Feeling the warmth into your ankles,

Down through your heels,

And the rest of your feet,

All the way through your toes,

Until you're completely enveloped in the warm sun,

Soothing you,

Melting away what you no longer need.

You feel your feet connecting more to the earth.

Roots are forming,

The bottom of your feet going all the way into the earth,

Connecting you to earth's core.

You feel centered.

You feel grounded.

You feel rooted.

You notice,

Suddenly,

The clouds are darkening.

A storm is approaching,

But you are not afraid,

Because you know that no matter what happens,

You have the strength and the will to remain.

The storm comes with its rain,

Whipping winds,

But you stand strong as this tree,

Rooted,

Grounded,

And solid.

The storm can cause chaos and destruction all around you,

But you stand strong.

You are wrapped in the golden light of the sun still,

Even during the storm.

You can feel it in your bones,

Feeling your feet rooted into the earth.

You are solid.

You are just like the trees that you see around you,

Fearless,

Solid,

And strong.

The storm gradually lets up,

And slowly the clouds part.

The blue sky gradually emerges,

And you feel the sun once again on your skin.

You notice how it feels to be in this calm space,

Released from the worry and overwhelm of the day.

You smile to yourself and try to recapture this moment to bring it with you to go through the rest of your day,

And remind yourself of your strength,

Your rootedness and groundedness.

Bring yourself back to the room you're in,

Releasing the image.

Notice your breath for a moment,

And gradually wiggle your fingers and toes.

When you're ready,

Slowly open up your eyes and just notice how you feel.

And remember,

You can always come back to this meditation as much as you need to.
