Welcome to this mindful space.
Beginning with a nice big inhale,
Slowly breathing in and slowly breathing out.
Allow your eyes to gently close or have a soft gaze.
Take another full deep inhale and on the exhale allow your body to settle.
Whether you're seated in a chair or on the floor,
Just feel the muscles relaxing more and more.
Feel the tension easing out,
Relaxation settling in.
Allowing your breath to return to its natural rhythm and allow yourself to rest in this rhythm of the breath,
Flowing in and flowing out at its own pace.
Maybe experiment and place a hand on your chest or your belly just to help you really feel the breath.
Notice the rising on the inhale,
Falling of the body on the exhale.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Feeling the expansion on the inhale,
Release on the exhale.
Expansion,
Inhale,
Release,
Exhale.
As you're ready,
Take a moment to scan your body from head to toe.
Notice what is here for you.
What thoughts might be swirling around?
What emotions?
What body sensations?
Take this moment to give your permission to go inward,
Allowing yourself to discover what is there.
Be curious about this internal weather pattern.
Notice if it's more stormy,
Chaotic,
Or is it calm?
Maybe your internal weather pattern is more variable.
Sometimes during the day you feel smooth,
Focused,
And calm.
Other times it might be more of a storm kicking up,
More windy,
Rainy,
And you're back to the sunshine state,
Feeling comforted,
Content.
Or maybe you feel something else today,
Something that's hard to put into words.
Just notice with an attitude of kindness and compassion for yourself.
What is there?
Allow it to be there without pushing it away.
Being in the present moment,
Giving it permission to be here,
Accepting all that is.
Allowing yourself to label what is here for you in this moment.
And as you're ready,
We'll close this meditation with another deep breath.
Inhaling and then exhaling,
Refocusing back.
Inhaling one last time.
Exhale,
Refocusing back.
Notice if the weather pattern inside has changed or stayed the same.
Check with yourself a few times a day,
Asking that question,
What is the weather pattern in my internal world in this moment?
