Welcome.
So today I want to show you a practice.
We're going to start with Centering and then go into a practice we call Kapalabhati.
It's also called Breath of Fire sometimes.
So I'm going to show you what it looks like first so that we can flow through.
Breath of Fire or Kapalabhati.
It's going to be short,
Sharp exhalations through the nose and you're going to feel the navel,
The belly pumping.
So it's going to look a bit like this.
I'm going to put my hand there so you can see my navel's pulling in.
It's short,
Sharp exhalations.
You're focused on the exhalation.
You want to let the inhalation take care of itself.
It's a passive inhale.
So when you're ready,
Start out sitting up tall.
Have the spine long,
Relax your shoulders.
And start by tuning into the center of the body.
Imagining that you have a centre of power here.
What might that feel like?
Imagine what might that look like?
You Does it bring any emotions with it?
In this practice,
You want to imagine that you're increasing energy in the centre with every breath.
To start,
Take a long inhale.
Take a long exhale.
Half inhale,
And then exhale,
Exhale.
Keep going and you can find your own pace with it.
You might be slower,
You might be faster than me.
Let it go.
Come back to your natural breath.
And then we're going to do another round.
Take a long inhale.
A long exhale.
Half inhale,
And then exhale,
Exhale.
Letting the navel pull in towards the spine with each exhale.
And then let it go.
Come back to your natural breath.
And then we're going to take one more round.
Take a long inhale.
A long exhale.
Half inhale,
And then exhale,
Exhale.
Last exhale and then let it go.
Coming back to your natural breath.
And again noticing any shifts.
In sensation.
Maybe in thoughts and emotions.
And noticing what this central power feels like.
Now that you've just increased the energy in this place.
Now as you move through your day.
Continuing to move from this center of power.
Your actions.
Your thoughts.
Allowing them all to move from this space.
You can stay here for as long as you like.
Whenever you're ready,
I'll bring you the hands in prayer,
Heart centre.
Lift the heart.
Bow the head to the prayer.
Thank you so much for your practice.
