The purpose of this meditation is to express gratitude and support to the body as it continually works to keep us healthy. The message here is that our mind body and soul are balanced working together for our highest good.

Hi,

My name is Shenhua Hawk and welcome to our meditation,

Gratitude for the Body.

Our bodies are always working on our behalf to heal and remove a daily deluge of toxins coming from our environment.

But we don't always think about the work our bodies are putting in.

And most of us very seldom tell our bodies thank you.

We tend to focus on the things we don't like about our bodies and how bad we might be feeling at a particular time.

Through it all,

Our bodies are still doing the work to get us back to normal.

The purpose of this meditation is to express gratitude to our bodies and to give it some extra support with affirming thoughts.

Please make sure you are in a safe and comfortable place for this meditation.

Before we start,

I'd like to share a technique that many singers use to help them with their breathing.

Take one of your hands and place it gently on your stomach.

And as you breathe in,

The goal is to fill your abdomen or stomach area with air so that your hand will rise with each inhale.

As you breathe in,

The hand placed on your stomach area should rise up,

And as you exhale,

It should fall.

Try not to use your muscles to force your hand up,

But rather allow the air you're inhaling to gently push your hand up.

It's not a big movement,

But you should be able to feel your hand moving up and down.

Now go ahead,

Close your eyes,

And let's get started.

Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.

If you're having trouble breathing through your nose,

Just use your mouth.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Allow your body to begin to relax.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Feel the tension begin to leave your body.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Try to remember a time in your life when you received the perfect gift.

Feel that feeling.

If you are a person that has never received the perfect gift,

I'd like you to imagine what that would feel like for you.

What would it feel like to know that you were thought of,

Seen,

And cared for?

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Keep holding on to that feeling,

That feeling of joy and happiness you felt when you received that gift.

And as you continue breathing,

Feel yourself getting more and more connected to your body.

Almost as if it's another person that you can actually speak to.

Imagine your body as a beloved friend that you haven't spoken to in quite a long time.

You are happy to connect to your body.

Now tell your body,

I love you.

Thank you for how hard you've been working.

I see you.

I care for you.

I support you.

I love you.

Thank you for how hard you've been working.

I see you.

I care for you.

I support you.

I love you.

Thank you for how hard you've been working.

I see you.

I care for you.

I support you.

This acknowledgement to your body is the perfect gift.

Your body is so happy to receive it.

Allow that feeling of receiving the perfect gift to wash over your whole body.

All the way from the top of your head down and out to your toes.

Now let's support the body with some deep breathing.

Let's inhale through the nose to a count of five.

Hold for a count of five and exhale to a count of five.

Inhale,

Three,

Five and hold.

Five and exhale.

Five.

Inhale again to a count of five.

Inhale one,
