This meditation is all about accepting every part of yourself. It's a gentle reminder that it is okay to be different. It is our differences that make us beautiful. We use visualization to reinforce the idea that we don't all have to look the same and we are no less valuable because of it.

Hi,

My name is Shenhua Hawk and I'd like to welcome you to our meditation for self-acceptance.

Please take a moment to make sure that you are in a safe and comfortable environment.

Find a chair or a comfortable spot on the floor where you can sit up straight for this meditation.

Close your eyes and let's get started with a few deep breaths,

Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.

And if for any reason it's hard breathing through your nose,

Then just use your mouth.

That's perfectly fine.

Now with your eyes closed,

Let's take a deep breath in.

And breathe out slowly.

Deep breath in.

And breathe out slowly.

Deep breath in.

And breathe out slowly.

Imagine you're standing in the middle of a forest.

It's just you and nature.

Take a look around.

Notice the logs on the ground covered in moss.

Notice all of the different kinds of trees.

Tall ones.

Short ones.

Thick and thin ones.

Pause for a moment and listen for the birds.

If you allow yourself to get quiet enough,

You'll hear many different kinds of birds in this forest expressing their unique and beautiful sounds.

These birds don't look the same.

Nor do they sing the same song,

But that doesn't stop them from singing.

That doesn't stop them from being birds.

They are not weird because they are different.

They're just different.

And that's okay.

And just like those birds,

You are not weird because you are different.

Who you are and how you are is amazing.

Take a deep breath in.

And breathe out slowly.

Take a deep breath in.

And breathe out slowly.

Everything you see in this forest represents this beautiful experience called life.

Everything here has a purpose and a place.

And so do you.

Take a deep breath in.

Breathe out slowly.

Deep breath in.

Breathe out slowly.

Deep breath in.

And breathe out slowly.

Now imagine that the sun is peeking through the forest trees and it's shining directly on you.

Feel its comforting warmth from the top of your head down to your neck and shoulders.

Feel the warmth of the sun slowly begin to spread down to your chest and out to each arm all the way down to the tips of your fingers.

Now feel that same warmth begin to spread down to your stomach,

Your hips,

Your legs,

And all the way down to your feet.

You are covered in warmth and love.

Allow yourself to receive this beautiful gift.

You deserve good things.

I'm going to leave you for a few moments to enjoy the feeling of the warm sun.

And while I'm gone,

I want you to imagine walking around the forest thinking these words.

It's okay to be different.

I am good enough.

It's okay to be different.

Just like all of the trees,

Animals,

Birds,

And bees,

You are allowed to be who you are.

Now we've come to the end of our time in the forest and it's time to tell your body to wake up.

Move your fingers around.

Move your toes around.

And with your eyes still closed,

Put your arms up in the air and take a big stretch.

Take a deep breath in and slowly breathe out.

Now bring your arms back down.

Take a deep breath in and breathe out slowly.

Now put your arms back up in the air for another big stretch.

Take a deep breath in and breathe out slowly.

Now bring your arms back down.

Deep breath in.

Breathe out slowly.

Now put your arms back up for one last stretch.

Take a deep breath in and breathe out slowly.

Now bring your arms back down.

Now open your eyes and repeat after me.

It's okay to be different.

I am good enough.

It's okay to be different.

Now go and have an amazing rest of your day because you are good enough.
