Before we begin,
Please make sure you're somewhere safe where you can fully relax.
Not driving,
Not operating machinery,
Just free to let your whole system rest.
I'm Chibzo Kereke and welcome to tonight's deep sleep meditation.
A meditation to help you melt into the bed and drift into weightless sleep.
Tonight is all about feeling so safe,
So held and so completely supported that the weight of the day can begin to dissolve and you can let go fully.
And as your body softens,
You may begin to drift beyond the usual edges of yourself,
Into sleep.
This session is here to guide you into a deeply restful state.
So restful that you may not remember much of what I say and you may not hear the ending at all.
And that is perfectly okay.
In fact,
That's one of the aims of this recording.
You don't need to stay with every word tonight.
You're welcome to drift off whenever sleep begins to take you.
There'll also be gentle 432 hertz music playing softly in the background,
Helping to deepen the sense of calm,
Safety and softness around you.
As that steady,
Soothing sound continues underneath my voice,
It can give the mind less to do,
The body less to hold and the nervous system more permission to settle.
And later,
As the affirmations begin to fade and my voice fades away,
That gentle music will remain in the background,
Giving you something soft and steady to rest into as you drift deeper into relaxation and sleep.
We'll begin by helping the body settle and soften into the bed beneath you.
Then we'll move gently into a deeper sense of safety,
Support and heaviness.
And from there,
Allowing that heaviness to turn into melting,
That melting into lightness and that lightness into sleep.
And then I'll guide you through a gentle countdown,
Helping you drift even deeper into rest.
Later,
As the affirmations begin to fade and my voice fades away,
You can simply continue resting.
You don't have to focus or concentrate,
You don't have to do this in any perfect way,
You can simply let my voice be there in the background,
Like a gentle guide,
While your nervous system does all the real work of letting go.
Take a moment now to get as comfortable as you can,
Adjusting your pillow,
Your blankets,
The position of your body,
Let anything that doesn't need to be there tonight move out of the way.
You might choose to lie on your back,
Or on your side,
Or in any position that feels natural,
Supported and safe.
If you need to set an alarm for the morning,
Or put your phone on silent,
You can do that now,
So there's nothing else you need to remember tonight.
And when you're ready,
You may allow your eyes to close or simply let them become soft and unfocused.
If at any point you want to open your eyes,
Or move,
Or change position,
You can.
You're always in control,
And you can always choose whatever feels safest and most comfortable for you.
For now,
Just noticing the simple feeling of your body resting on the bed,
Noticing the points of contact beneath you,
The back of the head,
The shoulders,
The arms,
The heels,
There's no need to scan in any particular order,
Just a gentle awareness of where your body is being supported.
And as you notice those points of contact,
You may begin to sense how the bed is already doing all the work.
Holding you from underneath,
Supporting your weight,
So there's nothing you need to carry right now,
Just this moment and the quiet support beneath you.
You might begin to notice that some parts of the body are already softening a little more,
Perhaps the jaw,
The shoulders,
The belly,
And you don't need to make that happen,
The body often knows how to soften,
When it feels safe enough.
If it feels comfortable,
You might take a slow,
Easy breath in,
And then just letting that breath go,
No need to force it,
No need to breathe in any special way,
Just allowing the out breath to be a little softer,
A little longer,
If that feels good.
And again,
An easy breath in,
And a gentle breath out.
As if the day could begin loosening its grip,
As if all the effort of today could begin draining down,
Out of the muscles,
Out of the mind,
And into the bed beneath you.
One more soft breath in,
And a slow,
Unhurried breath out,
Feeling just a little more settled now,
A little more supported,
A little more here.
And as that support continues underneath you,
You may begin to notice a pleasant heaviness in the body,
The kind of heaviness that comes when you finally don't have to keep going,
When the muscles realize they can stop working quite so hard,
When the body senses it's allowed to rest.
You might feel that heaviness in the legs,
Or in the arms,
Or in the simple weight of your head sinking into the pillow.
Wherever you notice it first,
That's enough,
And if you don't notice it clearly,
That's fine too.
Just resting here,
Held by the bed,
While the body gradually learns it doesn't have to do anything else tonight.
And as that heaviness settles in a little more,
It may begin to change,
Because sometimes,
When the body relaxes deeply enough,
Heaviness can start to feel almost like melting,
As if the muscles are loosening even more,
Softening even more,
Sagging even more,
Giving themselves over to the support beneath them.
You might notice that in the shoulders,
Or the back,
Or the hips,
Or the face,
As if each part of you could melt a little further into the bed.
The more you soften,
The more you may feel the bed receiving you completely,
Not sinking through it,
Just softening into it,
As if the mattress already knows your shape,
Holding every part of you that needs to be held,
Supporting every part of you that's ready to stop trying.
And as you melt a little more deeply into the bed,
You may begin to notice that the usual edges of your body feel less defined,
Less solid,
Less separate.
It may become a little harder to tell where your body ends and where the bed begins,
As deep relaxation softens those boundaries,
And the more safe and supported the body feels,
The less it needs to hold itself in such a clear,
Definite way.
You don't need to make that happen,
You don't need to chase any feeling,
Just allowing the possibility that the deeper you melt into the bed,
The less separate from it you may begin to feel,
And from there,
A different kind of sensation can begin to appear,
Not instead of the heaviness,
But because of it,
As if deep support,
Deep softness,
And deep rest could start giving way to a kind of lightness,
A kind of ease,
A kind of quiet weightlessness,
As though the bed is holding you so completely,
That you no longer need to feel the full weight of yourself at all,
The more completely you are held,
The less you may need to feel the full weight of your body at all.
You don't have to think of that as floating,
Unless that word feels right to you,
It may simply be a quieter,
Lighter way of resting,
As if the bed beneath you has become so soft,
So responsive,
And so perfectly shaped around you,
That it's carrying everything now.
You may begin to sense that your body is still here,
Still safe,
Still held,
And yet at the same time,
A little less dense,
A little less fixed,
A little more spacious.
Perhaps it feels as though the body is being cradled by warmth,
Or cushioned by softness,
Or gently suspended in comfort,
Not lifted far,
Not disconnected,
Just held so fully,
That effort begins to disappear,
And as effort begins to disappear,
Sleep can come much more easily,
And when the body no longer feels the need to brace,
Sleep can begin coming all by itself,
Just support beneath you,
Softness around you,
And more and more space inside.
You might notice thoughts beginning to drift a little too,
Slowing down,
Loosening,
Fading further into the background,
And there's no need to follow them,
No need to finish them,
They can simply pass through,
Like faint shapes moving across a dark sky.
And the more those thoughts fade into the distance,
The more you may notice this growing sense of being carried,
Carried by the bed,
Carried by the softness,
Carried by the night itself,
Safe enough now,
To soften more,
Held enough now,
To drift more deeply,
And in a moment,
I'll count down slowly from ten to zero.
You don't need to follow every number,
You don't need to listen closely,
You can simply let the numbers come and go,
While your body continues melting,
Softening,
And drifting into deeper rest.
The bed beneath you feels soft,
Steady,
And completely reliable,
There's nothing you need to hold,
Nothing you need to do,
Just this growing sense of being supported.
Nine The body softens a little more,
Any effort you didn't realise you were still holding,
Can begin to ease now,
The jaw softening,
The shoulders dropping,
The belly unbracing.
Eight The weight of the day feels further away now,
Plans,
Conversations,
Decisions,
All becoming less important,
Less immediate,
Less yours to carry tonight.
Seven The bed seems to rise to meet you even more fully,
Holding your shape,
Catching your weight,
Letting you be exactly how you are,
Without asking anything in return.
Six You may notice how the edges of the body feel less clear now,
Less fixed,
Less defined,
As if you're melting more completely into the softness beneath you.
Five Halfway down,
And perhaps the body feels heavier now,
Or lighter,
Or both at once,
Deeply held,
And gently weightless.
Six Thoughts can continue drifting past,
Without needing your attention,
There's nothing to solve here,
Nothing to figure out,
Just rest.
Three A deeper part of you may already be turning inward now,
Towards sleep,
Towards stillness,
Towards that quiet place where letting go can happen all by itself.
Two If any small part of you is still watching,
Still staying alert,
You can thank that part,
And you can let it know,
It doesn't need to do that right now,
You're safe,
You're held,
The bed can hold the rest.
One Almost all the way down now,
Almost nothing left to do,
Nothing left to carry,
Only this softness,
This support,
This drifting.
Zero And here,
Slowly,
You may simply allow yourself to drop into that deep,
Safe,
Held,
Weightless sleep,
As if the whole body can switch off now,
As if the night itself is holding you,
And sleep can take you from here,
From here,
You don't need to follow my words at all,
You may drift in and out of them,
Or slip past them completely,
Your conscious mind can rest now,
It doesn't need to listen closely,
It doesn't need to make sense of anything,
It can simply drift,
And if you become aware of my voice again at any point,
That's ok,
You don't need to come back up,
You don't need to re-engage,
You can just let the sound of my voice remind your body that it's still safe,
Still held,
Still completely supported,
And with that reminder,
You may sink a little deeper,
Soften a little more,
Drift a little further,
As if each word can simply pass through the background,
While you continue melting into the bed,
Floating in that quiet place between heaviness and weightlessness,
Where sleep comes easily,
And rest begins to take over,
Now,
There's nothing you need to do from here,
Nothing you need to work at,
Nothing you need to get right,
Sleep can happen on its own now,
Without any effort from you,
The bed is holding you,
And your whole system can continue letting go,
In its own way,
And in its own time,
And now,
These simple phrases,
These simple affirmations,
Can just drift softly in the background,
You don't need to repeat them,
You don't need to remember them,
They can simply be there,
Helping you melt more deeply into the bed,
Helping you feel safe,
Held,
And weightless,
While you rest,
It's safe for me to let go tonight,
My body is held,
Supported,
And ready for sleep,
The bed is carrying me gently now,
My whole system can soften and rest,
I'm safe enough to sleep deeply tonight,
I'm supported from underneath as I sleep,
