Before we begin, Please make sure you're somewhere safe, Where you can fully relax. Not driving, Not operating machinery, Just free to let your whole system rest. The mind can keep going tonight, That's fine. We're just going to make the body so impossibly heavy, That the thoughts have nothing left to pull. No legs to carry them, No body to follow them anywhere. Just wait, And stillness, And sleep. I'm Chibs O'Carrick and welcome to this deep sleep meditation for overthinkers. Tonight isn't about quieting the mind, It's about something more reliable than that. We're going to work through the body, The specific places where overthinking tends to sit and allow a deep, Settled heaviness to take hold there. And as that heaviness grows, You may find that the thoughts are still moving, But they're moving somewhere you're no longer following. From there, A slow countdown will take you all the way down to zero, To nothing left to carry, Nothing left to follow. By the end of this meditation, If you haven't already drifted off, You'll be more than ready to fall into a deep, Restorative sleep. And the more often you return to this recording, The more deeply it can work, As your mind and body begin to recognize the patterns and settle more quickly each time. Before we go any further, A moment for the practical things. Is the pillow in the right place? Are you warm enough or cool enough? Is the phone on silent? Is an alarm set if you need it? Because once those things are handled, There's nothing left to manage. No reason for the mind to stay on duty. You can simply arrive here, And now, Without moving, Just noticing the contact points. Where the body meets the bed. The back of the head pressing into the pillow. The shoulders settling down. The weight of the hips. The back of the thighs. The heels. All of it held. All of it already supported. Without you having to do a single thing. And now, Just noticing the breath. Not changing it. Just noticing that it's already there. The air arriving, On its own. A gradual letting go. And as that dial turns, You may begin to notice the heaviness arriving in specific places. Places where the thinking tends to live. Bringing attention to the jaw first. Noticing whether the teeth are touching. Whether there's any grip there. Any holding. And just allowing a small gap. Not forcing it. Not even really deciding to. Just the jaw getting the message that it no longer needs to brace. And now the space just behind the eyes. That particular kind of tiredness that comes from too much scanning, Too much processing, Too much trying to stay on top of everything. You may not have noticed how much effort was happening there. Until right now. And as you notice it, It can begin to soften. The eyes heavy behind the lids. The space behind them. Going a little darker. A little quieter. And now down to the throat. Allowing the chest to soften on the exhale. Not pushing it down. Just allowing it to stop anticipating. And now the hands. Noticing whether the fingers are curled. Whether there's any grip remaining. Hands that have been useful all day. And can stop now. Allowing the hands to open. Just slightly. Not all the way. Just enough that they're no longer holding anything at all. And now the whole body. Heavy at the jaw. Heavy behind the eyes. Heavy in the throat. The chest. The hands. Too heavy to follow. Because this is the thing about overthinking. The thoughts don't need your permission to keep arriving. That's just what minds do. And tonight, We're not trying to change that. We're simply making the body so heavy. So settled.
