This meditation invites you to rest for the sake of your nervous system without trying to fix,
Solve,
Or produce anything.
It offers a cosmic blueprint for activating your body's innate capacity to rest despite changing external conditions.
It is an invitation to surrender,
Soften,
And release.
Start by honoring where you are in your body,
Your connection to the earth,
To this time of existence.
Offer yourself empathy for whatever it took to show up here.
See if you can set aside some of the mental and emotional load.
Relax your eyes,
Feel the earth holding you.
Begin to rest on the inflow and the outflow of your breath.
Take a deep inhale,
Hold it at the top,
And then give yourself a slow exhale.
Notice how it feels to take a deeper breath and allow your breath to ground you.
Acknowledge where you are on this floating rock in space.
Begin to notice the pace of your thoughts without trying to course correct or adjust anything.
Simply witness your mind's space.
The thoughts appearing like stars in the night sky.
Can you allow some space between the thoughts?
Notice what is emerging from the vastness.
See if you can lovingly witness the whole present moment as it is.
And check in on the physical and emotional sensations in your body.
Very subtly,
Begin to notice if there's anywhere in your body holding tension.
And wherever you find tightness,
Give it your attention with a deep inhale.
And then release it fully on the out-breath.
You can try this with your shoulders.
A slight lift as you breathe in.
And then lower as you breathe out.
With your jaw,
A tiny clench as you inhale through the nose.
And soften as you exhale out the mouth.
With your hands,
A gentle curl as you inhale.
And then releasing as you exhale.
And let your body reveal where it wants to let go.
Allow the breath to flow freely.
Slow and steady.
Feel your whole body at once.
Resting,
Breathing,
Supported.
Imagine a slow wave of relaxation moving from the tip of your toes up through your whole body,
All the way to the crown of your head.
Again,
A wave flowing,
Smoothing,
Softening,
Calming,
Quieting everything it touches.
Now bring your breath back into awareness and rest here.
Honor what quietly lives in the center of you.
The sacred space of stillness,
Peace,
Wonder,
And awe.
Lean into the mystery.
When you're ready,
Give yourself the freedom to move on restfully into the remainder of your day and night.
Bring your palms together at the heart.
Breathe in deeply and clear it out.
And gently return to your time here supported by the earth.
Give your head a gentle bow to your heart in deep gratitude.
