Join me in this 10 minutes guided meditation to start your day in peace. This meditation is perfect for newcomers to practice since it's easy to stay in the moment and not too long to be uncomfortable. For more used practitioners, it's the perfect help when we find it hard to set off some time to be mindful. Namaste

Make sure that you are sitting somewhere comfortably,

Where you can be undisturbed for the whole time of this recording.

Sitting cross-legged or sitting on your shins,

Maybe sitting on a cushion,

Back straight,

Eyes closed,

Hands resting in your lap or on your knees.

Palms facing upward.

Let your sitting bones sink deep down into the ground,

Let your hips become heavy.

Elongate your spine,

Relaxing the shoulders,

Lengthening the neck,

And keep your shin parallel to the ground.

Begin with turning your attention towards the sounds,

The sounds of the early morning,

Of your home,

Maybe of activity already going on outside.

Then bring your awareness as well towards the smells,

All those familiar smells that you don't even pay attention to anymore.

Feel the temperature,

Really feel it with your skin.

Let the air caress you.

Let go of yesterday.

Let go of the night that just passed.

It will never come back again.

Don't define who you are by who you were yesterday.

Don't condition yourself by the actions or behaviors that you had.

Learn from each experience,

But always allow yourself to start afresh.

Starting each day with a blank sheet,

With an open heart and a curious mind like a child.

That way there are no expectations.

Just like here right now,

There are no expectations.

There is nothing to be achieved and there is nothing to be performed.

It is just you sitting here,

Tapping into the deepest part of yourself as a way to create what your new day will be like.

So now take a moment to set your intention for the day.

Maybe one word,

Maybe a whole phrase,

Maybe even just a feeling state.

Make it clear in your mind.

And then let that intention be your focus for the next few moments until I speak again.

Now that you've set your intention,

Let it go.

Bring your awareness back towards your breathing.

Allowing for that rich movement of your breath to also in a very subtle way move your body.

Awaken your body.

Taking this state with you into the rest of your day.

And as a way to commit to that,

Place the palms of your hands onto your heart.

Say silently in your mind,

I am completely here with you now.

Notice the sensation of saying those words in your mind and feel the fingertips on your body.

This is me.

Hear the sounds again.

Smell the smells.

And feel the temperature.

When you're ready for it,

Relax your hands back down again,

Palms open.

And softly,

Gently begin to open your eyes.

Have a wonderful day.

Namaste.

Thankyou! It is nice to go back to basics sometimes and really just connect in with the core of what meditation is. Breathing and being in your body. Namaste x
