Sleep,

A time for healing,

A time for resting and a time for letting go of the day close your eyes too and take three deep and wholesome breaths and focus for a moment on your toes and imagine a leaf,

Small and delicate,

Soft and gentle landing upon them,

Each and every single toe feel them relax and let go and then another leaf lands upon the top of your right foot and totally relaxes your foot and another leaf lands on your left foot as each leaf lands on each part of your feet,

Notice the depth of the relaxation and the leaf lands on your ankles,

Both your ankles relax and let go another leaf floats down and lands on your shins,

Relaxes your legs,

Feeling good,

Feeling comfortable another leaf floats down and lands on your left knee another leaf lands on your right knee,

Notice that relaxation that nature is offering you beautiful leaf lands on your left thigh,

Relaxing the whole of your leg as another leaf lands on your right thigh,

Your legs completely relaxed,

Rested and comfortable as another leaf lands on your waist,

Relaxing all of your muscles,

So comfortable,

Any tension just melting away as another leaf lands on your pelvis,

Your pelvis completely resting and relaxing and letting go as they're landing on the bottom of your stomach,

All of those muscles expanding letting go of any tightness or discomfort and that relaxation reaching up to the middle of your stomach and to the top feeling the whole of your stomach just letting go,

Feeling loose,

Feeling easy,

Feeling free and another leaf floating down and landing on your chest,

Your chest loosens and unwinds breathing perfectly for you,

Feeling so comfortable,

So at ease as another leaf floats down and lands on your little fingers and onto your ring fingers another floats down onto your middle fingers and onto your index fingers and a leaf floats down and lands on your thumbs,

A beautiful leaf floats down and lands on the back of your hands one into the palm of your hands and then one floats down and lands on your wrists one onto your forearms one lands in the middle of your arms,

One floats down and lands on the top of your arms notice how relaxed your arms feel,

How comfortable they are as you then notice one's land on your shoulders this deep comfort caressing the whole of your body so beautiful and gentle leaf floats down and lands on your throat,

One floats down and lands on your chin one onto your left cheek one leaf floats down and lands on your right cheek,

One floats down and lands on the tip of your nose one between your eyes and one on your left eye lip and one on your right a leaf floats down and lands on your forehead and one gently lands on the top of your head every inch of your skin caressed by the softness of these gentle and delicate leaves the gentleness of nature,

The gentleness of each breath you so lovingly take to fill your body with loving kindness connecting with your inner sleep self resting and relaxing and letting go as you bow to self and give in to relaxed hours of sleep and recuperation so that your tomorrows are healthy and balanced your healing and resting time is upon you as you unwind,

Unravel and drift off deeply,

Deeply into sleep into the calm notion of you the dark sky above you,

Deep and full of wonder each night the sun sets to allow you to rest darkening the skies quietening down,

Deep and full of wholesomeness life giving rest a time to quieten your mind,

Your body and your soul a time for the mind to reflect and go back to its peace and harmony its place of true intrinsic rest your place of true self,

Of who you really are without fears or judgement your place to remember that you were born free free to flow,

Free to be you,

Free to glow free to grow and be grounded on this beautiful earth as your feet touch the meadow of freshly cut grass a meadow where there is just you,

The fresh air and one red maple tree standing right in the middle of this meadow wonder,

And as you wonder,

Wonder upon the feeling of being so deeply relaxed notice how comfortable your whole body feels as you give in to this relaxed feeling of deep rest and comfort wonder,

And as you wonder,

Wonder how nice it will be to sit beneath this beautiful tree and wonder,

And as you wonder,

Wonder if you've ever walked on grass so soft before as your feet sink in to the pillows of grass and as you reach the tree and sit down with your back against its trunks you can feel the softness of the breeze gently blowing past,

Over and around you and in that gentle breeze a flurry of red leaves drops from the maple tree each year this tree starts again in its cycle of life each autumn teaching you it's okay to let go as it drops its beautiful red leaves one by one letting go and as each leaf flows to the ground allow the notion of letting go to get deeper and deeper as your eyelids gently close and you drift deeper and deeper into sleep letting go drifting down in the comfort and heaviness of your very own slumber it's okay you can let go good night sweet dreams

Thank you for this passage back into deep sleep. This practice was effective even in this time of deep concern about professional issues and the incomprehensible news of the world. Namaste
