Transcript

Please get yourself in your most comfortable meditation position.

Taking your time to set yourself up in your most comfortable way.

Setting yourself up for complete success for this meditation practice.

The longer it takes you to get into your pose,

The longer you can normally hold it.

So getting the props that you need to completely support you in this inner child healing meditation.

And when you're ready,

Close the eyes.

And that nice beautiful long spine,

Either flat on your back or sitting up as tall as you can,

Connecting those sit bones down to the earth.

Rolling the shoulders away from the ears and allowing yourself to completely surrender,

Allowing gravity to hold you as you let it all go.

Releasing all tension,

All strain,

All struggle.

Release the thought,

Release the to do's,

Release the worries.

Let everything go and bring yourself into this present moment.

Feel the soft beat of your heart in your chest.

Maybe you can get so internal that you can begin to hear the beating of your heart.

Noticing how that heart space feels in this moment.

You can imagine this space doing the breathing,

Inhaling through the heart.

And exhaling out through the heart,

Getting deeper and deeper into your body,

More and more relaxed.

Now really begin to take your awareness deep into your heart.

The center of your chest,

There is a tiny rose bud.

On your next exhale,

Begin to see this rose bud opening slowly,

Petal by petal.

And as it does,

This beautiful light shines brightly from this space.

Getting deeper inside now,

You find that you're able to step into this rose bud.

As you step into this beautiful light,

Entering into the rose bud,

You notice that you stepped into a beautiful garden.

Take some time to notice what your garden looks like.

Noticing if there's any trees,

What kinds of flowers,

What kinds of grass.

Is there any rocks,

Water?

What does it smell like?

What does it feel like to be in your garden?

Go and find a comfortable place to sit in your garden.

Feeling yourself deeply rooted into the earth.

Feel the warm sun on your face with a gentle breeze.

Looking up and seeing the clear blue sky and cotton candy clouds.

It is the most perfect day and you feel so at peace and so content in your beautiful garden located inside of your heart.

Off in the distance,

You notice an adult and a child walking towards you.

They are hand in hand.

Upon looking at them,

You immediately recognize them.

You know them in your heart.

Notice who the adult is.

And the child,

The child is you.

This is your inner child.

As they get closer,

You begin to stand.

You embrace the adult and the child in front of you.

And as you release this embrace,

You notice that the tiny child in front of you is crying.

You ask the adult for some alone time and you and the child begin to walk away together.

Finding a beautiful spot in your garden to sit and talk.

You sit face to face,

Perhaps in an embrace or holding hands.

And you begin to listen to what the inner child is feeling.

What happened that is making the child feel so sad?

Once the child is done speaking,

It is your turn,

Your turn to tell the child everything that this child needs to hear in this moment.

How can you help this child with its fears,

Sadness,

Its grief,

Its sorrows?

How can you fill this child up with so much love,

Protection and support?

How can you help this child with its fears,

Sadness,

Its grief,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow?

How can you help this child with its fears,

Sadness,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow,

Its sorrow?

Once you're finished talking,

Ask the child if there is anything else that needs to be said.

And allow yourself to speak any words that you feel called to speak.

You both begin to stand and embrace one more time.

Begin to walk this child back to the adult that it arrived with.

And speaking with the adult,

Anything that needs to be said between the two of you.

And you and the adult can embrace one time here,

Giving each other a beautiful hug.

And as the embrace is released,

The inner child and the adult begin to walk away.

And you stand in your beautiful garden,

Feeling so held,

Supported and filled up.

You know that another piece of you has been healed.

Look around your garden and express gratitude for this beautiful space.

Know that you can return here any time that you desire,

Any time that you need to go deep within your heart.

Express gratitude for the inner child who bravely showed up today and the adult who came with the child.

And thank yourself for this deep healing,

For showing up to yourself.

Place your hands onto the heart space.

Bringing yourself back into your body.

Giving deep gratitude for your heart and for that beautiful rosebud that exists in the center of your chest.

Nice and slow,

Begin to return yourself to your room,

To your body,

Feeling grounded,

Supported and healed.

Question: I'm not sure who the adult is who is with the child at first. I understand I (my adult self) comes in and walks with and nurtures the child (my inner child), but am I supposed to know who the first adult was? This would be helpful for me to process this. I have been doing this meditation every morning. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Beautiful meditation, I have never really dwelled into inner child practices. I hold a lot of past trauma and found it very easy to settle into the visualisation. I think I'll do it again quite a few times. Thank you so much

Exactly what I needed, thank you!! Our childhood selves are so impressionable even the smallest things can leave a scar. Think I might do this one a few times to help my inner child heal.

At first I wasn't sure I could go there. I have so much childhood trauma of all kinds that was repeated in some of my adult experiences and many relationships. I struggle to connect to my inner child. However today was the day with your meditation. I do not have the words to Express the emotional release I had. I know this is just the being of me learning to connect with and heal my inner child and in turn heal my mind, body and soul of all the wretched pain of shame and unworthiness. I am not a burden and I was always worthy of love. My heart thanks you. 💜💚💜💚
