This is the Day 3 Meditation from Cayce's '30 Day Meditation Habit' In many ways meditation is revolutionary. Why? Because we are not looking "out there". We are not grasping for something outside of ourselves. We are conditioned to search for happiness in things, people, and situations. Those external conditions only ignite a feeling that we have inside already. If we are not in touch with happiness itself, there will be nothing to ignite. Alternatively, if we are in touch with happiness it will be set ablaze with the slightest notice, in fact, it can burn on its own, just because. The trick to finding this happiness, is that we don't look for it. That's right. We just practice being in the moment, which brings us to stillness, and in that stillness happiness arises naturally.

Let's meditate today on happiness.

Go ahead and assume your meditative posture.

Have your back nice and straight.

And this meditation on happiness is counterintuitive.

By reaching out and actually seeking for happiness is a great way not to find it.

So instead,

We're going to allow stillness to take us to a place where happiness is already there.

It's just abiding there in that stillness.

And even in that stillness,

We do not need to look for this happiness.

It just arises naturally.

So the process of getting to happiness is letting go of striving.

And so we could start right now by just letting go of expectation.

Letting go of any doubt,

Any thinking of doing it right or doing it wrong.

Letting go of rehashing the past.

Letting go of the should-ofs.

Letting go of if this would have happened,

I would be happy now.

Letting go of the future.

If this happens,

I will be happy.

If I get this,

Then I will be content.

Letting go of the planning and the rehearsing.

And allow yourself to fall into what is here now.

The simplicity of being.

Breathing in,

I know that I'm breathing in.

Breathing out,

I know that I am breathing out.

Breathing in,

I know that I am breathing in.

Breathing out,

I know that I am breathing out.

Breathing in,

I know that I am breathing in.

Breathing out,

I know that I am breathing out.

This was amazing I love the part of letting go of the past resentments the “what if” the “should of” that plays over my head so much and it really interferes with my happiness thank you for this meditation I’m actually in California and in Southern California often I would love to attend a live meditation class!

Accessing stillness is probably one of the most difficult things to do. Very nice meditation. Thank you!
