Welcome to the Shavasana series in today's episode,
Peace and Calm.
We're going to use a mantra today which is perfect for when you have a busy mind and can't seem to get away from your thoughts.
Before we begin,
Make sure you are good and comfortable and have that quiet space.
Wiggle your hips,
Your legs,
Your neck.
Make sure that you can release every muscle and every fiber as we go inward.
And let's start with a nice deep breath all the way down into your belly.
Breathe all the way in,
Filling up and exhale with sound.
And we'll do this a few more times,
Bringing huge inhales in and releasing with sound.
This activates your parasympathetic nervous system so that your body can relax,
Sending signals through your brain and body that it's okay,
Which also quiets your thoughts.
So a couple more of these nice big inhales and then exhaling with that vibration of sound,
Letting every cell of your body know that it is okay to relax.
And from here,
Releasing your breath and relaxing inward.
Let yourself release every ounce of effort.
Mind,
Body,
And energy opens,
Softens,
And surrenders.
Let all of your awareness come inward deep into your belly as you feel the breath gently pulling and releasing all on its own.
Let every muscle,
Every fiber,
Every particle of your whole being soften,
Open,
And let go of every ounce of effort.
Bring your awareness in to the rhythm of your breath,
Deep in your belly all the way through your nose.
Meld your awareness with this ab and flow,
Ab and flow,
Having no judgments or opinions about how fast or slow or smooth it should be.
Just let your awareness ride the flow of the rhythm all the way in and all the way out.
Inhale with the mantra peace and exhale with the mantra calm.
So we inhale peace,
Exhale calm,
Inhale peace,
Exhale calm,
Inhale peace,
Exhale calm,
And continuing with your own breath.
Stay with this mantra,
Peace and calm,
As you scan your body and release any tension.
Any muscles have started to contract,
Consciously release and continue feeling that breath pulling from your belly all the way up through your torso.
Peace and calm,
Peace and calm,
All the way in and all the way out.
As you are inhaling peace,
See if you can breathe the essence of peace into your body and as you exhale calm,
Feel the calming relaxation through every cell.
If you find that you are off in a thought,
No worries,
You simply guide your awareness back to the breath.
Inhale peace,
Exhale calm.
Continuing with the mantra peace and calm,
Peace and calm,
Peace and calm.
I invite you to stay with this mantra for as long as you'd like.
I will keep the music or the background waves playing for a while.
If you'd like to keep breathing peace and calm,
You can also breathe in the essence and let it merge and meld through your body and mind,
Bringing it all into one peaceful and calm place.
