Welcome to this meditation where today you will practice building resilience using curiosity,
Appreciation,
And noticing.
Today you will savor your senses.
According to Merriam-Webster,
The definition of resilience is the ability to become strong,
Healthy,
Or successful again after something bad happens.
The ability of something or someone to return to its original shape,
To return to your original essence,
To return to the truth of who you are,
The ability you have to come home to your heart,
This is where your resilience lies.
And of course,
Being a writer,
I invite you to have your journal by your side as some of these prompts that I offer may turn into journal prompts.
So let's practice.
Find yourself in a comfortable position,
Whatever suits you in this moment.
Gently close your eyes and let's breathe.
Taking a breath in and releasing it.
Noticing how that feels in your body when you breathe in and release.
We breathe all day long,
But how often do we turn toward that breath and notice with a little curiosity?
How often do we say to ourselves,
How does it feel to breathe?
Notice your breath moving in and out of your body,
Turning toward that breath with curiosity and noticing how it feels to breathe today in this moment.
Testing your attention on your breath in your body and settling in to yourself.
See your breath to anchor yourself in this moment.
As you're breathing in and out,
I invite you to take this next breath and gently float with it,
Drift with it to your heart and place your attention on your heart and take a moment and feel into your beating heart.
Allow whatever arises to arise and turn toward that with curiosity,
With a sense of awe,
With a sense of appreciation.
No matter what emotion arises,
Be grateful for your heart and for the ability you have to feel deeply.
In this moment,
Bring to mind a sight that you are grateful for.
Maybe it's something you see every day or someone,
Or maybe it's something you have seen just once in your lifetime.
Bring that to mind now and as you do,
Notice what emotions,
What feelings,
What memories are sparked within you.
Now shift your focus to a scent that you really love,
Something you love to breathe in.
And as you think about it,
What happens in your body?
Place with curiosity how you feel,
What comes to mind,
What emotions may arise when you think about all you appreciate about this particular smell.
And as you're breathing in to the idea of something you love the smell of,
It may lead you to your tongue and to something you find utterly delicious,
To a favorite flavor,
Something you love the taste of.
Really feel into your appreciation here.
And what about the sense of touch?
What do you love to feel,
To touch?
Appreciate your favorite thing to touch or feel.
Turn toward it with curiosity and wonder.
Turning toward your sense of hearing,
Something you love to hear.
Rest your attention on this idea.
What sounds do you appreciate?
What sounds do you feel?
Shifting to what you might hear,
The sounds around you in this moment,
Turning toward any sounds with curiosity,
With appreciation that you can hear them.
I invite you to open your eyes,
To gently scan your surroundings and notice with curiosity,
With wonder and appreciate the objects around you.
And here I invite you when you feel called or if you feel called to turn toward your journal and just write with curiosity and appreciation and notice how do you feel in this moment and notice what it feels like to gently focus on all that is within you.
The wonder,
The awe,
The curiosity,
The appreciation,
Your heart just by noticing what you might see or feel or taste or touch or smell.
Covid oxygen is a massive feat and there is a great deal of stress and,
Again,
Wyman You are a resilient,
Magical being.
I appreciate you.
Thank you for taking time to meditate with me.
Namaste.
