What you have lost is the physical body of your beloved one.

It's only a shell.

It's an outfit.

The spirit,

However,

Will not die.

The spirit is eternal energy.

It transforms into different forms.

This is true for human beings and animals as well.

Because the physical body is getting old,

It cannot function anymore.

Because in this life,

They have learned what they needed to learn.

Because they've tried what they wanted to experience.

Because they've paid off the karmic debt with their family and friends.

Because the universe is calling them for another mission in a different dimension or planet.

Each of us has a unique spiritual path.

Your beloved one has decided to move on to the next step to evolve as a soul.

They also made their own choice on how to leave this planet.

The passing away may have seemed like an accident,

But it's never an accident.

There is no coincidence.

After leaving the physical body,

The soul becomes so much lighter and free,

Basking in the love and light of the universe.

Looking back at the physical body,

The soul is often amazed by how they could have managed and survived in such a heavy suit.

When a person or an animal passed away,

Those who remain on the planet are the ones who need the most healing and help.

And the best way to heal is to forgive.

No matter what happened during their life,

Please forgive yourself,

Forgive your beloved one and accept their forgiveness.

And be true to your emotions.

If you want to cry,

Just let it out as much as you can.

Arrange some me time for yourself,

Be still and quiet and feel your emotions.

The grieving process is not easy,

But it is necessary.

If you pretend to be strong and try to forget the pain,

The sadness and all the emotions will just accumulate,

And one day that could even lead to illnesses.

The following practice is to help you adjust your mood and get through this phase more easily.

Let's begin.

Please settle down in a quiet place.

Relax your shoulders,

Relax your facial expressions,

Relax your eyebrows,

Relax your whole body.

Slow down your breath.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

First we'll do some conscious breathing to calm down.

During the practice,

If there are any thoughts or emotions coming in,

Just let that be.

Do not judge how we feel because there's no right or wrong.

Accept that there is a process for everything.

Simply let these emotions and thoughts pass through,

Then return to your breathing.

We'll stay here for three minutes.

Please begin.

Now think of your loved one.

What do you want to say to him or her?

What do you want him or her to forgive you for?

Or do you forgive him or her?

Speak from your heart and express how you genuinely feel.

We'll stay here for one minute.

You may want to pause the audio if you need to.

Please begin.

What do you want him or her to forgive you for?

Now he or she has something to say to you too.

It may come as words or simply a feeling.

You can place your hands gently on your chest and try to feel the love and forgiveness your loved one has for you.

Please begin.

It is simply a feeling.

The next step,

Recall any one scene of the happy moments you had with your beloved one.

Thinking back to a happy past helps us feel better.

Please start.

Very good.

Finally,

Say from your heart to your loved one the four lines of ho'oponopono.

I'm sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

Thank you.

Please start.

Slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment.

Breathe in and out.

You may want to sit here for a little while and enjoy the peace and silence.

The process of grieving may be longer for some people.

Just repeat this practice anytime you feel the need.

Physically we have lost a person or an animal that we dearly love.

But remember,

They never leave us.

They're always around to support us and love us.

You can always talk to them if you want to and they'll hear us.

What they want to see most is our smiling faces and know that we are enjoying our life.

So smile.

Carmen you must have read my mind. This morning Iโ€™m dealing with so much grief and pain because I have to put my beloved cat Snoopy down this evening. Heโ€™s 22 years old and he just went into kidney failure. I followed this entire meditation and all the messages I sent and received were full of love, acceptance and compassion from both him and those Iโ€™ve lost recently. Thank you for including our beautiful pets into this process. I know his spirit will be free after this evening and he will no longer be miserable. Itโ€™s just us, as you said, who need the extra care and support after theyโ€™ve gone. My heart is shattered but I know he will be my happy boy again in spirit. Iโ€™m so grateful to you for making this Meditation.
