Day 2 of The Shiva Reset teaches you the ancient art of "Emotional Alchemy." Inspired by the legend of Shiva as Neelkantha (The Blue-Throated One); who drank the poison of the world to save it, but held it in his throat so it wouldn't poison him, this meditation teaches you to build a "container" for intense emotions. You will learn to hold fire without getting burned. By the end of this session, you will have the capacity to sit with high-intensity feelings without needing to fix them, fight them, or flee from them.

Har Har Mahadev Welcome back to Day 2 This is Coach Dish Good to see you again Yesterday,

We learned how to be the mountain How to stop the spinning To be sthānu Unshakeable Today,

We need that stability Because we are going to deal with the elephant in the room The emotions I know high performers I know you You are probably really good at handling it When you feel anger or frustration Or that tightness in your chest You usually do one of two things You either swallow it Push it down Keep the peace And get the job done Or You explode You snap at someone You react You burn the house down Neither of those two things works long term Swallowing it makes you sick Exploding makes a mess So today,

We are going to learn the third way The way of the Shiva We meet Shiva as Nilkant The blue-throated one This is not just a color This is the story of the ultimate alchemist So,

Find your seat Find that mountain feeling from yesterday Heavy hips Straight spine But not too rigid Surrender to the ground beneath you As you close your eyes Now,

Guide your attention to the breath For a few moments Just noticing the simple in-breath And the out-breath There is no need to change it Just observe the natural breath Now,

I want you to bring your attention To a specific part of your body today Your throat and your jaw This is the storage unit for everything you didn't say Notice Is your tongue pressed against the roof of your mouth?

Drop it Notice if the jaw is tight Wiggle it very gently,

Side to side Notice if there is a lump in your throat A tightness in the chest Don't try to fix it just yet Just acknowledge it Just say to your body I feel you It's okay You are safe here There is a powerful legend about Shiva Called Nilkanth The blue-throated one The legends say When a poison emerged That could destroy all of creation Everyone was terrified But Shiva stepped forward And drank the poison But here is the key He didn't swallow it If he swallowed it It would have killed him And he didn't spit it out Because if he spit it out It would have destroyed the entire world So,

What did he do then?

He held the poison in his throat And by holding it without fear Without reaction He transformed it The poison turned Into a bright blue light A jewel of unimaginable power This is the teaching You don't have to eliminate stress You just have to increase your capacity To hold it This is your lesson today You are not here To learn how to never feel poison You will feel it Anger,

Fear,

Stress Frustration,

Sadness,

Hurt You are here today To learn what Shiva knew That you can hold it And in the holding Transform it Your capacity to hold difficulty Is the measure of your spiritual strength Today,

We build that throat Of blue light So,

Let's practice this Sit like the one Who can hold anything Feel the stillness Once again from yesterday It is your foundation Now,

I want you to invite a feeling That's been bothering you lately Maybe it's a frustration with a colleague Or a loved one A disagreement Perhaps a worry about money Or some other worry at your workplace Take a few moments to bring that story In your consciousness Think everything about it Just very briefly Now,

Locate that feeling Where in your body do you feel that?

Bring your attention to your throat Is it tight?

Is there a lump of something unspoken?

Bring attention to your chest Your heart center Is there a heaviness?

A heat?

A tight fist of emotion?

Do not judge it Do not try to fix it Just acknowledge it with kindness Say to yourself This is the poison And I am here,

Aware of it You have already begun the alchemy Your mind will naturally want to spend more time Telling the story of the poison It will probably say something like It's because of what they said Or it's because I'm afraid of Notice the story Thank the mind And then bring your attention back To the physical sensation Where do you feel this in your body?

Just the raw sensation Not the story You are separating the poison from the drama This is the first transformation Now,

The alchemy begins This very second Don't wait Don't think Feel the heat The tightness The weight Where it lives in your body Just find it Bring attention directly to your throat and chest To the center of the feeling Feel the space that's already there Notice the cavity of your chest The openness of your throat Now,

Breathe directly around the sensation Feel your breath Creating a cushion of space around it You are not breathing into the heat You are breathing around it Inhale The space grows Exhale Your awareness holds the space steady As you breathe around it Let the quality of your awareness change Let it become cool,

Spacious and still Like the deep,

Calm waters of a mountain lake You are not visualizing a color You are invoking the blue-throated Shiva The poison is here The blue light awareness is here Holding it They exist together now You are not trying to fix it You are not trying to make it go away You are just holding it Breathe into this blue space With every inhale The blue light grows brighter Cooler More expansive With every exhale You are not pushing the poison away You are simply creating more room around it The poison is hot The container is cool You are the container I bet your brain is trying to solve the problem right now It's saying,

Yeah,

But I need to do something about it Or perhaps,

I hate this feeling When does this meditation end?

Catch that That's the urge to spit it out The urge to react Come back to the holding You are bigger than this feeling You are the sky holding the cloud The cloud can be black It can be thundering The sky doesn't care The sky is vast Limitless space Be the sky Let the image of the blue space soften now Feel the raw sensation of holding Now,

Ask the sacred question Who is holding this?

Who is aware of both the sensation and the spacious awareness holding it?

So,

There is the feeling And then there is the blue,

Cool space And then there is you The one knowing the whole scene Rest as that The alchemist The sakshi The witness To complete,

Let's seal this transformation Take a deep,

Cool breath in to your throat and chest And as you exhale with a big sigh out Release any last residue of struggle Gently,

Place a hand on your heart A hand on your throat And set your intention I am Neelkanth,

The blue-throated warrior I transform suffering into strength Fear into fearlessness This is my intention Now,

Open your eyes slowly You have changed This is a superpower The ability to sit with fire and not get burned This is what makes you a mindful leader That is resilience As you go through your day and your life in general When the pressure hits,

Which it will Remember the Neelkanth The legend of the blue-throated Shiva Tomorrow,

We go to the forehead We meet Trinetra,

The third eye The clarity switch We will learn to burn away illusion And see with clarity The journey continues to get brighter You are the alchemist Om Namah Shivaya
