We had a terrible rainstorm recently.

On my way,

Taking my son to school,

He told me,

It's okay,

Mommy.

The flowers need water.

And they do.

The flowers need water.

Every rainstorm isn't here to ruin our day.

Or be an inconvenience.

It could be here to water the flowers.

Take a moment to breathe.

Really breathe.

In through your nose and out of your mouth.

Continue for a few moments as your body begins to settle,

Your muscles relax,

And your thoughts disappear.

As you allow your breathing to return to normal,

An unnoticeable inhale and exhale.

Think about the last rainstorm in your life.

The last time you had a bad day.

Or had a major inconvenience.

Now think of the moment after it all cleared.

How much did you enjoy the moment after?

The days that followed.

The season beyond the sad,

Hard,

Or challenging one.

Maybe you can recognize the flowers that bloomed after.

The way you were able to appreciate things a little more.

As you go on throughout your day today,

Remember the rain is needed.

It waters the flowers.
