Find a place of comfort,
Either sitting down or lying flat.
Allow your body to relax and your muscles to ease.
If you're able,
Go ahead and close your eyes.
Bring the focus to your breath.
The rise and fall of your chest.
Soft and gentle breath as it goes through your nose and out of your mouth.
Focus on each pass of your breath.
Inhale and exhale.
Allow that focus on your breath to ease all the thoughts that are trying to race through your mind.
Focus only on your breath.
In this meditation,
Imagine the last place you enjoyed the sun shining on your skin.
Where were you?
What was going on?
How'd you feel?
Imagine you are there now,
Looking around.
What do you see beside you?
What's above your head?
Inhale and take in the scents.
What do you smell?
If the last place you were was by the beach,
Can you smell the salt from the ocean?
If you were on a nice nature walk,
Maybe you smell flowers in full bloom.
Maybe you're out in your yard and you smell freshly cut grass.
Stay right there in the moment,
Looking around and imagine the sun's rays warming your skin.
Imagine God's peace filling your heart.
And imagine your body in complete relaxation.
Stay here for a while,
Walk around,
Take in the scene,
Feel the sun's rays on your skin.
As you leave this beautiful place with the sun shining bright,
Back to wherever you are in this very moment,
Consider this scripture,
Romans 15 and 13.
I pray that God,
The source of hope,
Will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him.
Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
