Are you feeling tense,
Like your muscles are carrying all your stress?
Find a comfortable seat and allow this body scan to ease the tension in your body.
In this meditation,
You will breathe into your muscles,
Releasing any tension you may be carrying.
Sending a signal to your body that it can relax.
Before you get started,
Take a few deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Now close your eyes and focus on each of the body parts as I name them.
For each,
Take a deep breath in and as you release,
Imagine the tension being released from that body part.
If you don't feel any tension,
That's amazing.
Just breathe into that body part and release as I name it.
Your forehead,
Jaw,
Neck,
Shoulders,
Lower back,
Chest,
Hips,
Thighs,
Calves,
Feet.
For the next moment,
Travel back up your body again,
This time focusing on any areas you still feel tense.
Starting with your feet,
Make your way all the way back up to your forehead.
Breathe into each of your body parts on your own.
Continue if you are still feeling tension or need more time to relax.
When you are comfortable,
Allow your breathing to return to normal.
Your eyes to open and welcome movement back into your body.
