Allow yourself to settle in your seat.
If you are feeling any tension,
Any areas of discomfort,
Allow it to ease now.
Allow your eyes to gently close,
Bringing your focus to your breath.
Without controlling it,
Allow it to come and go naturally.
As you ease into this meditation,
Remember that thoughts will come and go.
And as they do,
Bring yourself back to your breath.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,
Bring to mind a place where you are most at ease.
A place where you have complete peace.
This place could be a room in your home,
A favorite vacation spot,
Or maybe a place in nature.
Wherever you are,
Look around.
What do you see?
This place that comforts you and brings you peace.
What do you hear while you are there?
Listen carefully.
Even if it's silent,
Listen for the peace.
What does this ease,
Peace,
Stillness feel like in your peaceful place?
How does it feel to your body?
Is your body totally relaxed from the top of your head down to the bottom of your feet?
Are your thoughts happy thoughts here?
Does your heart expand with joy here?
Gently bring a smile to your face and allow this feeling of joy to overcome you.
Take a deep breath in.
As you release,
Bring your focus back to your breath as it enters and leaves your body naturally.
Inhale again and as you exhale,
If you are able,
Bring your hands to your chest.
In your mind or out loud repeat,
I am here.
I am at ease.
I am at peace.
Again,
I am here.
I am at ease.
I am at peace.
One last inhale and as you release,
Let your hands ease down and gently open your eyes.
