Have you ever feared waking in the morning and the sun not shining? Does it even seem a possibility that the night would not break allowing for the sunlight to signal the start of a new day? As we expect the sun to shine each morning, we should be comforted in knowing that God is consistent.

The sun's rays piercing through the sky,

A reminder that God is consistent.

Never once do I imagine waking up in the morning and the sun not shining,

Or that the night would have lingered longer than expected.

The sun's rays are a reminder that God keeps his promise.

It's God who set the boundary between day and night,

And not once has that boundary been broken.

So why should I fear that anything else God has done will be anything less than consistent?

When you fear,

When doubt starts to creep in,

Look up to the sun and remember that God will keep his promise to you.

Take a deep breath and let your eyes comfortably close as you breathe,

Imagine the sun's rays warming your face.

Imagine the bright light lifting your mood as your heart expands while daylight renews your hope.

Be still in this moment with the sunlight on your face.

Take another deep breath in and as you exhale,

Gently open your eyes.

Open your eyes.

Today,

Let the sun shine brightly on your face and know that God will do what he has promised you.
