2 Chronicles 20:21 reads, "After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang: "Give thanks to the Lord; his faithful love endures forever!" It's the praises in verse 21 that release the blessings in verse 22. Take a moment to allow your worries to fall away as you sing praises unto God.

So often,

We pray for a blessing.

We understand the suffering we are enduring,

And only want God to deliver us from the suffering,

To lighten our burden.

And we should pray,

Keeping an open dialogue with God always,

Because He wants to hear from us.

As it states in 1 Thessalonians 5 and 17,

Never stop praying.

So don't stop.

Also recognize that during our suffering,

We can demonstrate our faith by praising God now.

As it states in 2 Chronicles 20 and 21.

After consulting the people,

The king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army,

Singing to the Lord and praising Him for His holy splendor.

This is what they sang.

With thanks to the Lord,

His faithful love endures forever.

In verse 22 it reads,

At the very moment they began to sing and give praise,

The Lord caused the armies of Ammon,

Moab,

And Mount Sire to start fighting amongst themselves.

In this meditation,

As you close your eyes,

Lengthen your breaths,

Taking slow inhales and long exhales,

Begin to praise God for all He has done,

Either in your mind or out loud.

Start with the breath that's coming as you sit and listen to my voice.

Continue giving God praise and as you do,

Feel the comfort of the Spirit washing over you.

Feel the peace that only God can give you.

As you allow your breath to return to normal,

And your praise to settle,

Take this with you today.

When you are in need,

Give.
