Find a comfortable position,
Sitting,
Lying or standing.
Allow your muscles to relax and your breath to be heavy.
Feel the rise and fall of your chest.
If you are able,
Begin counting your breaths.
Each inhale as 1,
3 and so on.
After you've stopped counting,
Lost count or you're amazed by the number you reached,
That breath,
If you are blessed,
Will repeat many more times today.
Don't try to do the math,
Not right now.
Your thoughts will be consumed.
Instead,
Give thanks for each breath,
Coming in abundance.
One after the other,
After the other.
If the day becomes overwhelming,
Take a moment and count your breaths.
