"I Am" Yoga Nidra - Open Heart

The "I Am" Yoga Nidra method guides you through various levels of deeper and deeper relaxation. We start with chanting OM 3 times to help the body relax and release energy. We use the intention of I keep my heart open to all conditions. Allow yourself the time and space to truly relax and let go into stillness and silence.

And today we're going to start with chanting the sound of om.

We're going to do it three times.

So if you're uncomfortable with making the om sound,

You can either just hum it to yourself with your mouth closed,

Making an o sound,

Or you can just imagine the sound.

The reason we do this is for the vibration to go through the body to start to release energy that might be trapped.

So it's whatever you're comfortable with to start with.

So let's go ahead and close your eyes and allow your attention to turn inward and bring your attention to the breath.

Imagine the whole body beginning to relax with each progressive exhalation.

And we'll chant a continuous sound of om together.

And as you chant,

Let the sound come from deep within your belly.

When you run out of breath,

Take another full breath and begin again and we'll repeat three times.

Let's begin.

Take an inhale in.

Ah and then come to silence.

Let's sound dissolving into silence.

And again,

Breathe in fully.

One exhale with a deep sigh and letting go even more.

Feel a deep sense of contentment and peace in your heart.

Now allow yourself to receive the following intention as I repeat it.

Let your whole body listen to what I say.

I keep my heart open to all conditions.

And recognize that your body has been a trusted vehicle,

Creating accomplishments and contributions to the best of its ability.

Now it's time for your body to rest deeply.

Go ahead and place the arms on the floor above your head.

Inhale and stretch the arms and legs in opposite directions.

Stretch,

Stretch,

Stretch,

Stretch.

And let go.

Keep the arms above your head.

And again,

Inhale,

Stretch,

Stretch,

Stretch fingers and toes as far away from each other as you can go.

Stretch even more.

And then release,

Keep your arms above your head.

And now last time,

Reach,

Reach,

Reach,

Reach,

Stretch even a little bit more.

And release the arms down by your sides and let go completely.

Take one last breath in and release all the tension in your belly with the outgoing breath.

Feel a blanket of heaviness washing over the face,

The arms,

The weight of the spine,

The legs and the whole body.

Enter the deepest state of letting go right now.

Release any struggle to make anything happen and relax.

Relax even more.

As we enter this next phase of yoga nidra,

Remain as motionless as possible.

If you need to move or make an adjustment,

Do so mindfully and return to stillness as soon as you're able.

Resolve to remain awake,

Staying in touch with the sound of my voice.

Allow your entire body to respond to my words directly and non-mentally.

Allow any disturbances external or internal to draw you more deeply within.

In yoga nidra,

You enter this subconscious pranic field.

Let your mind merge and melt into the energy body and go beyond the boundaries of body and mind.

Shift from thinking and doing to feeling and being.

Do absolutely nothing from now on.

Carefully relax.

Drop into the deepest state of tranquility,

Stillness and peace in the third eye.

As you breathe in through your nose,

Fill your lungs fully and completely without strain.

Now start exhaling through softly pursed lips as if you're blowing through a straw.

Let it be prolonged,

Steady stream of breath and empty the lungs completely.

Breathe in completely and breathe out completely without strain.

Each time you exhale,

Empty your mind of all anticipations and your body of all tensions.

As you inhale,

Fill your heart with joy.

Continue this breath with constant attention and detached awareness.

Breath is calm.

Mind is silent.

Body is relaxed.

Heart is unconditionally open.

Now return to your normal breathing and turn your attention inward.

Experience the powerful impact of vibratory energetic pulsations in the form of sensation in your body.

Let your detached awareness embrace all experiences unconditionally.

Let your mind merge and melt into it.

Now bring your total undivided attention to the eyebrow center and drop into the deepest level of silent stillness,

Peace and harmony.

Drop into that silent space where all doing stops.

Let go.

Let go even more.

On your next inhalation,

Draw the breath from the tips of the toes up to the top of the head.

As you exhale,

Draw the breath down from the top of the head to the tips of the toes.

Repeat for the next few breaths.

This time as you inhale,

Draw the breath in from the ankles up to the top of the head and exhale the breath down from the top of the head to the ankles.

Now draw the breath in from the knees up to the top of the head and exhale the breath down from the top of the head to the knees.

Inhale from the perineum at the base of the spine up to the top of the head and exhale the breath down from the top of the head to the perineum at the base of the spine.

Inhale from below the navel up to the top of the head and exhale the breath down from the top of the head to below the navel.

Inhale from the belly button,

The solar plexus,

Up to the top of the head and exhale the breath down from the top of the head to the solar plexus or the belly button.

Inhale through the heart center,

Exhale out through the crown of the head.

Inhale through the throat,

Exhale out through the crown of the head.

Inhale through the third eye,

Exhale out through the crown of the head.

Merge into the subtle upward flow of energy.

Become one with the boundless field of energy extending everywhere.

Inhale separation dissolving in a background of evenly hovering awareness.

Free from restrictions of mind,

Divine energy awakens.

From this moment on,

Allow yourself to shift from effort to grace.

This is the nourishment of divine energy.

Let the spirit force work for you,

Providing you with complete divine protection and guidance.

All power is beginning to manifest in your life,

Giving you a whole new level of vitality,

Strength and courage.

A new sense of freedom,

Fulfillment,

And joy filling your heart.

Bathe in a complete sense of relief now that you have arrived.

Five times of karma dropping away at this moment,

You are unburdened and free.

Feeling completely at peace with yourself and the world that surrounds you.

Feeling very safe in this protection.

Your body is luminous,

Radiant,

Emanating light from every pore of your skin and manifesting through your eyes.

Know that you can return here again and again.

Feel that your whole body and every cell is vibrating at a whole new frequency,

Different from anything you've ever known before.

The energy field begins to extend beyond your body and spreads everywhere.

This is a new dimension.

The dimension of being,

Not doing.

Because when you arrive,

There's nothing to be done.

Give yourself the permission to enter into the deepest level of relaxation right now.

Let go.

Nothing to do or achieve.

Resolve and disappear into stillness.

Sensations,

Thoughts,

Images,

Floating by like clouds on a clear blue sky.

Letting it all gather and dissipate,

Come and go.

See the space in which it is all happening.

Come and go.

Chainsaw.

Fists on.

Hear your intention.

Imagine your affirmations are actualized and fulfilled with effortless ease.

Now allow yourself to receive the following intention as I repeat it.

Feel every cell of your body receiving these words.

I keep my heart open to all conditions.

I keep my heart open to all conditions.

I keep my heart open to all conditions.

Allow this intention to go to the deepest levels of recognition with no hesitation.

Know that your higher self recognizes,

Honors,

And accepts your intention.

Have faith and trust that it's been heard and is being acted upon by the higher power of the source within you.

There's no need for you to do anything about it.

Bring your attention back to the center between the eyebrows.

The life force is flowing freely,

Healing the body and calming the mind.

Open your heart and feel intent.

At this time,

Feel the presence of any guides,

Mentors,

Teachers,

Or family members that you feel connected to.

You may sense this as a universal force or energy surrounding you,

Guiding you.

Know that this presence surrounds you always.

You can draw on it at any time.

If there's any guidance to be received at this time,

Either as a felt sense,

Words,

Or images,

Allow yourself to receive it now.

Otherwise,

Simply rest back in the grace and protection of the presence.

Now,

Begin to become aware of the rising and fading.

The falling of the breath.

Slowly feel yourself beginning to rise to the surface of awareness.

Notice the body resting on the floor.

Gradually you can start to move as if waking from a restful sleep.

If you'd like,

You can stay lying down for a bit longer.

If you're ready,

Go ahead and bend your knees and gently bring them in towards your chest and rock from side to side.

Take your time.

There's no rush.

When you're ready,

Gently turn to your right side and keep the knees in close to the chest.

Feel the safety,

Comfort,

And protection of the womb of existence.

Bring your intention into your awareness again.

I keep my heart open to all conditions.

Every time you find yourself in reaction,

You are empowered to replace it with your intention.

Now you can gradually move and begin to sit up with your eyes still closed.

Notice what you consciously recognize that has or has not changed.

Know that something deep within you has shifted.

Become aware of your body.

Bring a deep sense of peace and contentment with you as you bring your awareness back to the body.
