Welcome to your meditation,
Becoming the main character of your life.
Get comfy for your practice,
Either sitting or laying down.
And let's take a deep,
Cleansing breath as we arrive for our time together.
You are here.
And all you have to do is listen and observe.
Gently close your eyes if that feels good for you.
And start to soften into your meditation position a little bit further.
Life can get so busy,
And there may be times when we feel like we're playing a part in someone else's story.
A role that we're playing in our jobs.
In our family.
Or in the world.
It can feel as though we're no longer writing our own lines.
That we're stuck in a performance that wasn't written for us.
And if you're feeling like this in your life right now,
Please be kind and gentle with yourself.
There's no need to judge or even get wrapped up in regret or wishing that you've done better.
We all have these moments where we think,
I've just been on autopilot.
So no matter how long you've felt like you've been playing a supporting role,
Or even a background character.
You can step into being the main character of your life at any time.
Today is the day.
Start to take deep,
Calming breaths.
In through your nose,
And slowly out your mouth.
Think about how you've been showing up lately.
This isn't to put ourselves down.
It's simply reflecting to understand ourselves on deeper levels.
What kind of energy have you been showing up with in your days?
What are the thoughts that are there on a regular basis?
How are you speaking to others?
How are you speaking to yourself?
As you think about the ways you've been showing up lately.
Just notice if this is how you want to be moving through life.
There's no right or wrong answer.
Only honesty with ourselves.
If there is something,
Or even many things,
That you'd like to do differently.
Instead of beating yourself up or.
.
.
Being frustrated.
Just say to yourself,
This is an opportunity to learn.
I am aware of how I've been showing up.
And this is the moment I step back into being the main character of my life.
Being the main character in our lives doesn't mean everything will always be fun and simple.
We aren't looking for the easy way out.
There will be obstacles to overcome.
There may even be villains that try and hold us back.
We might go through a dark night of the soul.
Experiencing the full spectrum of the hero's journey.
But we are always on the road that will lead us back home to ourselves.
Life isn't always a breeze.
Who am I kidding?
It's often challenging.
But how you choose to show up through the challenge.
That's what will make the difference of feeling like you're along for the ride or standing in your spotlight.
We can't control the world around us.
But we can make the choice of how we want to show up.
And even when we have moments where we feel like we don't have a choice,
We can reflect on those moments.
And then choose how we want to show up in the next one.
Take a moment to think about the kind of energy you want to step into more often.
The kind that makes you feel like the main character of your own story.
It might be a confident energy.
A go-with-the-flow demeanor.
Perhaps it's not planning as much,
And letting go of control.
Maybe it's trusting in yourself that you can handle what life throws your way.
What kind of energy do you want to step into?
More often.
You A main character is not a victim of their circumstances.
A main character harnesses the power of their creativity,
Their unique strengths.
And their resilience to overcome the plot twists.
Getting up and trying again.
And again.
And again.
Until they experience their blissful,
Happily ever after.
And the thing about bliss is that it isn't reserved for the finish line.
Because a happily ever after moment is experienced right at the start of something new.
The deep exhale that you let out as the sun is setting.
The ahhh you express after taking a gulp of a refreshing drink.
The joy you feel when you witness someone else's wins.
Those are blissful moments.
Those are the happily ever afters of your days.
So don't wait for someone or something to come along and bring you your joy.
The more often you show up with the energy you want to live by.
And remind yourself to step into that energy.
The more often you will know your happily-ever-afters as the main character of your life,
In micro-moments that add up to an incredible life well lived.
Step into your life fully.
You are in charge of how you show up.
And anytime you feel like you've slumped back into the role of an extra,
Reorient yourself to step forward as the main character once again.
Lean into the challenges that can teach you beautiful lessons.
And step back into your spotlight.
You always have the power to show up with the energy that you want to be.
More often.
Set up a little bit taller.
Remind yourself of the energy that you want to bring into your day.
Maybe smile if that feels uplifting for you.
And when you feel ready.
Take the deepest breath you've taken all day.
And open your eyes.
As we move back into our day.
Know that you get to be the main character of your life.
Go out there and live it.
You've got this.
Thank you so much for practicing with me today.
And I'm excited to share another reflective meditation with you again soon.
