Join Britta Eskey this week and in the next few weeks for a quick self-love boost in self-compassion. This week we will cultivate an inner image that represents wisdom, strength, warmth, and nonjudgmental acceptance. An ideal image of caring and compassion. This is based on the understanding that feelings of warmth, tenderness, and love normally begin through experiencing these feelings externally, and creating one’s own inner compassionate image can help provide a source from which we can learn.

Hi,

So on day three of the Compassionate Image,

I would like to introduce the Compassionate Image in the form of nature.

Many people feel the presence of divinity in nature,

The presence of source.

So the Compassionate Image in this case can be something like the sun which shines upon all of us and everyone the same way no matter who they are.

So many people relate to the sun that way,

That it's unconditional.

It can be an image of a beautiful magnificent tree.

Many people relate to a tree of something steadfast,

Something beautiful,

Something big and magnificent that they can kind of lean upon.

It can be an image of the ocean.

So many people have a beautiful relationship with the ocean as being the mother ocean,

This beautiful body of water that holds us all.

Whatever that is for you,

Just pick an image of nature and then close your eyes and envision that image before you.

This beautiful natural image that evokes in you the presence of compassion,

Of unconditional divinity,

Source,

Strength and imagine yourself right in front of it.

Receiving its presence.

Sense how this feels in your body as you open to this unconditional presence of compassion that comes from this natural image,

This ocean,

This tree,

The sun,

The flower,

Whatever it is that you're picking and its connection to the source of all compassion,

Of all love and let that presence,

That light touch you,

Touch your heart.

Especially if you find yourself right now in a time of distress of any kind,

Just let this compassion touch this place of distress,

The grief,

The hurt,

The confusion,

The struggle that might be going on inside of you.

Even if it is a struggle to love yourself,

To accept yourself,

Let the presence of this compassion just soothe it,

Comfort you,

Give you strength.

Allow yourself to receive this fully and to imprint this into your nervous system.

What does it feel like to receive unconditional compassion?

Yes.

And then take this receptivity and openness into your silent meditation if that is what you're choosing to do right now and pause me now and turn me back on when you're ready to come out of your meditation.

Let's take another breath into this openness,

Into this receptivity.

Imagine your compassionate natural image one more time.

The sun,

The tree,

The stars,

Whatever it is for you,

The ocean.

Yeah.

One more breath of receptivity and then opening your eyes.

Understanding what's here with you and when you go outside now,

You may encounter a natural image.

You may see a tree or a flower and tune into that.

Tune into the divine presence always emanating in nature and allow yourself to keep being receptive to it.

I wish you a beautiful day.
