Hi!

So this week we're going to do gratitude.

Grace and gratitude are very connected.

So I have a picture frame here for you that you probably can't see so I'm going to read it to you.

It's from Albert Einstein.

There are only two ways to live your life.

One is as though nothing is a miracle.

The other is as though everything is.

So if we take that approach that everything is then so are we and so are you.

So today we're going to start with gratitude for our very existence,

For our life.

So let's close our eyes.

Finding a comfortable position to sit.

In this brief meditation we're going to tune into the sense of gratitude for our life,

For this miracle that we are,

For this masterpiece of divine art that we are,

That you are,

That I am.

Just sensing your breath in your body.

That alone is a miracle.

It's something that happens all by itself to keep us alive and it's also something we can change.

We can breathe more deeply.

We can control how fast we breathe.

So I invite you to just breathe a little more slow and full.

And just sensing your own aliveness,

This living presence that you are.

And finding the sense of gratitude for your life.

It's amazing that I'm here at this point in time,

Right here,

Right now,

I am and I didn't make myself.

Something or someone made me,

Created me and I am completely unique.

There's nobody else like me.

There never will be.

There never has been.

And just sensing that privilege of being alive,

Of having an opportunity every moment to become present,

To love,

To be loved,

To be a friend to others and to ourselves.

Just seeing if you can just find that simple thank you to the grace that created you.

Just the way you are.

And what if for a brief moment you would just rest in that the way you are is the way you're meant to be.

That it is good the way you are,

Including the way you look and walk and talk,

The gifts you have,

The love you feel.

And just to say thank you,

Thank you for my life,

Thank you so much for my life and this opportunity now to go more deeply into it,

To express it more fully,

Including in this silent meditation.

If that's what you choose to do,

To use this as an intro into a silent sitting meditation,

Then just go into the silence with this beautiful sense of gratitude for your life.

And you can stop the video now,

Pause it and then return to it when you're done sitting.

And before we get off our meditation pillow or chair or cushion,

Let's just take one more moment to say thank you for this gift of life and may I use it,

May I not waste it as I'm about to get off my pillow here into my life,

Into your day,

Into your evening.

May I live this life to its fullest,

Learn how to truly meet life and gratitude.
